WET: This game deserves a sequel
« on: June 11, 2015, 10:27:26 am »
This is one of the best examples I can think of, of the old 'B Tier' games that we don't see much of anymore.
It wasn't a big budget game, not a particularly innovative or well executed game, but it was really fun.

It had a nice art style (although the 'grindhouse' thing was a bit tired by this stage, I still liked it), fun combat (mixing Max Payne with some basic hack and slash worked well), and cool characters (surprisingly Ruby doesn't get brought up much as a good example of a female heroine, I thought she was a great character as a hard drinking and tough female mercenary. IT wasn't in your face 'GRRL POWER', she's just a merc.).

I feel like this game had potential, it had some fun missions, side content and even left the game open with a cliffhanger. It had issues for sure, but I feel like a sequel would have really improved a lot of things. As it was, it was a nice mix of shooting and platforming, encouraging you to wall run, slide and generally jump about the place as much as possible.

I even just wish it had a PC port, since it's harder and harder to play old console games as time goes on, and I wouldn't mind revisiting this game.

Anyone played it? Thoughts?

I'd second that.

I played through it about 5 years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The game was a bit rough around the edges, but was flat out fun. Thanks for bringing it up. I should absolutely re-play it.
