If what you're saying is factually inaccurate, expect to be called out. I'm saying don't downplay the amount of work that goes into each title. For years you've been honking about each game re-using the same assets, as if all that changes are the missions. Every single game has had huge new areas added to it, which you'd know if you played them. For some reason you seem to have a real chip on your shoulder against this series, which is weird since it's a highly successful, very creative and yes, very Sega series.
The trouble is now you're starting to enter fanboy mode and when people start to go into that mode, they don't read what people say and misrepresent what peoples views ...
I happen to like the 1st 2 Yakuza games and think Yakuza II is one of the best games SEGA's ever made . I know some here like to make out that I hate every Nagoshi-san game, when that's not the case at all and I'm one of the few here that's got anything good to say about Spikeout on the XBox, or even worse still... that I'm not a SEGA fan (which is an insult and laughable)
Now back to the game... You trying to make out I downplay the game that again isn't quite correct . Since you work in 3D and in the industry I take it .. You would know that yearly development cycle means you simple can't change too much in that 9 to 10 month of actual development time if its the same team that's handling the game , I don't see you coming in and defending games that people like slag off on here when it comes to EA Ubi games and so on. Don't you think that Fifa and Madden teams don't work hard and are doing their best ?. Not that I've ever said the Yakuza Team are lazy or the games are bad
Yakuza games are now very much like the Lego series of games. If you played one, you pretty much know what to expect when playing the new one , they play much the same as gone before. That's to be expected, when it's the same team having little more than a one year to make each new game , Sports Inter Football Manger team also have these issues given its the same team making the yearly updates; And speaking of Sports, Have any of the Football Manager team every played professional football, much less managed a football side ? like they sat its the most realistic manager game going
So spare this crap that you have work in 3D to be able to comment . Speaking of Yakuza 6 graphics they are assets being reused , there is a dip in the In-Game graphics on the movement of clothing and so on, there isn't any real time reflection on the water, an effect that Conkers on the N64 featured. This is the best team inside SEGA with the best Producer in SEGA and well Japan, and if they were given 2 to 3 years to make a game, they could be making a game that colour rival what the likes of NaughtyDog and Crystal Dynamics make in graphics and also they have the time to try new things and see if they work or not .
