Yakuza 4 - Official Thread of Nagoshi the Gingerbread Man

It is out next week. No base thread yet?

The biggest recent announcements are about what is removed from the game, and this time it is only the Answer X Answer minigame and the intro, which used a licensed track.

To be honest, I am kind of happy the intro was changed. I cannot imagine most people who speak English fluently to take "Me so horney because you so nasty" seriously. It will be replaced by a remix of "For Faith". Fingers crossed it is Takenobu's!

Who is getting it?

So, like this?

Anyway, after playing the demo a whole bunch I can safely say I am very fucking excited for this game.

I'm getting it... but my timing isn't working out quite as well this time.  I was hoping to finish Yakuza 3 just in time for it, but well... work has been keeping me quite busy.  And Beyond Good & Evil HD just came out, so I've been playing that a bit.  We'll see if I can make the seamless transition...!

Still havent finished 3, assassins creed 2 and brotherhood have kept me quite busy. I should stop playing too many games at a time. *sigh*, and the games just keep on coming

Generic IGN hate speech here.

I like how they constantly say incredibly good things about the game then mentions it gets old and the graphics are not always great then give it a pretty damn bad score.

Entirely because "SEGA" is on the box, I am sure.

I know IGN is poo, but their positives were 'Tons to do' and 'Japanese QUirkiness'?
Really? Those were the positives they came up with?

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

The fact that the demo was so poor isn't helping it either. "Whats this game about it's just four boring fights where you mash X and then hit Y sometimes...."

Didn't IGN give Yakuza 1,2 and 3 good reviews though? I wonder if this is just some weird writer for IGN, like the guy who complained that Duke Nukem isn't enough like COD and Halo so it's not good.

Let me check the release calendar for March...

Oh, yeah, Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2 and Homefront are out this month.

Now I understand...

Sounds like he reviewed Yakuza 3 as well.

His problems are similar to what I had with Yakuza 2.

They released a sequel to quickly, it feels like it's predecessor and the plot is the best feature of the game but is convoluted with pacing issues. Sounds exactly like every entry in the series.
