You can't do all side quests in the end. I think some of them are time sensitive. Like you have to do them in a chapter or they go away.

I beat it, ending was good.

Well that's a bummer. I guess I'll just focus on getting the minigame-related trophies and such.

What about adventure mode? That is always how I finished up all of the missions in past games.

I'm going to put what I hated about the ending here, so I can link to it instead of putting a spoiler in the front page.

[spoiler:jtgoalci]Yakuza 4's ending had a bit too many cliches. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a series of games that has cliches, but when you use the cliche like 5 times, it really starts to look bad.

First of all was the rubber bullets used, I thought it was a pretty good twist and was happy when we learned that Taiga Saejima didn't kill those 18 people. But really rubber bullets? I mean, just doesn't make sense to me, they said they would make someone pass out, but would they? Most likely not.

But let say I do believe it, alright move on. Then they used this 'fake bullets' cliche again later on in the game. It is like the developers tried to put as many twists in the game as possible. Then there was the 'No, I'm not a good guy, I'm actually a badass villain' and the 'Let me tell you who the other traitor is...' *shoot* '..ah.......'

Not only that, some of the people there fought in the end had no reason to fight to start with. Daigo Dojima vs. Kazuma Kiryu. Like, what was the point? After they kicked each others ass they just started the advice. NO POINT. Its like most the characters in the game are to dumb to just say "OK, Let me tell you how I feel", instead they go "Shut the fuck up and fight me, after I will tell you my feelings".[/spoiler:jtgoalci]

- Whine whine.

I also agree that Yakuza 4's plot was of the calibre of Yakuza 3's....in other words, a step below the first 2 Yakuza games. That's why I told people not to trash Greg Miller's thoughts on Yakuza 4's plot before playing it....I'm not sure who said Y4 had one of the best plots in the series, but it definitely didn't.

I liked it though. The only thing that bothered me was people constantly NOT killing villains....just being like "no, it's not worth killing you." And then, surprise, surprise, villain picks up a gun and kills someone. Like, duh.

Also, after people constantly end up "thinking" they kill someone yet that someone was wearing a bulletproof vest.....you'd think that by the end people would start going for the head. But nope.

Personally, I think most of the Yakuza games have had really silly stories. The cutscenes are really well directed and well acted, but the plots are ridiculous, amnesia, long lost twins, masked characters, every cliche in the book! That's kinda what Yakuza is all about though (and punchin' tigers in the face), so I don't mind. I just wouldn't say that they have 'great' storylines, any of them. Still a million times better than GTA 4.

How bullshit is that end boss fight at the end of Yakuza 4 with the one guy shooting you that you have no possible hope of dodging

I think you can play through all the side missions in premium adventure mode. I've just finished all of Akiyama's missions.

You can dodge it. You have to wait and hear his gun click and then click dodge. The issue is you are fighting 7 people at the same time. its hard and yes you will get shot a lot. But if you packed health like you should before the fight and don't suck, you should be fine.

I only had 2 healths so for me the fight was incredibly tough. But I figured out a strategy, and that was to go for the guy with the gun first. Once he's gone, the rest follow easily.

Finished the game just now.

Bloody awesome game. I really loved it, and outside of Arkham City, I don't see any other game being better than this one this year. Holy crap. I still have so many side missions to do as well, definitely going to give it a playthrough in Premium Adventure/New Game + Mode.

How far have you all gotten in Boxcelios II?  I've just made it to level 50.  And unlocked Boxcelios I.
