I'm going to put what I hated about the ending here, so I can link to it instead of putting a spoiler in the front page.
[spoiler:jtgoalci]Yakuza 4's ending had a bit too many cliches. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a series of games that has cliches, but when you use the cliche like 5 times, it really starts to look bad.
First of all was the rubber bullets used, I thought it was a pretty good twist and was happy when we learned that Taiga Saejima didn't kill those 18 people. But really rubber bullets? I mean, just doesn't make sense to me, they said they would make someone pass out, but would they? Most likely not.
But let say I do believe it, alright move on. Then they used this 'fake bullets' cliche again later on in the game. It is like the developers tried to put as many twists in the game as possible. Then there was the 'No, I'm not a good guy, I'm actually a badass villain' and the 'Let me tell you who the other traitor is...' *shoot* '..ah.......'
Not only that, some of the people there fought in the end had no reason to fight to start with. Daigo Dojima vs. Kazuma Kiryu. Like, what was the point? After they kicked each others ass they just started the advice. NO POINT. Its like most the characters in the game are to dumb to just say "OK, Let me tell you how I feel", instead they go "Shut the fuck up and fight me, after I will tell you my feelings".[/spoiler:jtgoalci]
