New Miku game coming! Project DIVA 3?
« on: April 25, 2011, 10:29:38 am »
Sega has just launched the site containing a silhouette of Miku:

http://miku.sega.jp/newproject/

It's the exclusive design used for the DIVA 2nd promotion.

If you go to the official site of Project DIVA, it jumps automatically to this new site (launched day 26, right now) so it has high chances to be a new installment on the series.

It says only " April,28,2011 a new project starts!"

I love this series, I want more sequels to it XD

Yeah, the series is a good cash-in for SEGA and probably is also of high quality, but IMO the talented people at SOJ should focus to projects more "ambitious", like original title, SEGA IP(old and new), and not so much to rhythm'n'game on license, especially given the limited number of titles produced by SEGA in recent years.

Sega has limited them to make games only in 2010. That's real.

Now, only really good and secure projects are being accepted by Sega.

Miku was not a secure project, and the creator of the first game was fired from Sega right after the game got released.

Happily, the game turns out a huge success! Surprising everyone at Sega.

Now, even AM2 and Marza are working on the project. It's a big deal and a secure project now. Sega even made Tony drawn Miku just to make a new figurine and sell it XDD

Let's wait and see how many years this vocaloid fever persists in Japan.  :afroman:  Sega has nothing to lose with Miku since its not an owned IP.

Thanx for the additional info, STORM, totally with you but...

is this the problem, on one side SEGA loses nothing but the other could lose the license itself, and with all this investment on it AM2, MARZA, TONY... , would be a shame.
