That makes sense considering the mod aims to replace everything from the models to the UI and sound effects, but let's hope we get to play as Sonic in the near future.

They don't gave up right away. They already tried twice for each franchise.
Valkyria Revolution and Valyria Chronicles 4.
Sakura Wars reboot and Sakura Kakumei.
So may not be the end of the Sakura franchise?

It's not, they're still doing talk shows, exhibits, and theatrical thing of it afterall.
But for games, don't expect any of it soon.

You know when we we're talking about aesthetics, especially "Nintencore" and "Mariocore"?

Well, looking at screenshots of Sonic Dream Team, I can't help but feel these level designs look like they belong more in Super Mario 3D World or Odyssey in colour, texture and design.

Super Mario RPG Remake keeps Peach’s “???”

Quote
This is particularly shocking as most remakes are censored in some form to maintain some degree of political correctness.
In the original Super Nintendo game, players could enter into Princess Peach’s room, and when searching a specific area, players could find “Peach’s ???”.
A screenshot from the remake has surfaced, revealing ...

Not for me, it looks like Sonic Lost Wolrd design for me but more colourful.
Kinda like 3D World may be but definitely not Odyssey.
Odyssey is very varied.

Yep, assuming there's no change in the final released version.

But it still reminds you of Mario to a degree, yes?

Actually it feels more like the adventure part of Sonic Adventure than Mario games to me.
May be that's why I love Odyssey so much.
Something that also Takafumi loved but somehow making Uncle confused due to how different than the kind of games he usually played.
