Why would they not include a version of the first MGS? Or is Peace Maker a remake or something?
Peace Walker's more of a direct sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3, where you play as Big Boss. It deals with the creation of Outer Heaven.

I can tell Payday: The Heist is gonna go over real well with Fox News and other TV media outlets.

Ultimately though I believe whenever Fox News and similar outlets do stuff like that it boosts the sales of the title rather than diminishing it.

More Halo on the way.

Not surprised, but I am interested in how well they'll keep it going without Bungie. An HD remake of Halo could be cool, especially if it plays/looks like Reach. A new game though... I'm hoping they come up with a new character, maybe who has to search for Master Chief. I'd rather they leave Chief out of it, but doubt it since he's their money maker.

I'm not a huge fan of the series, but I do enjoy the games. The Bungie games offered features unheard of in console games, so I hope 343 can keep that trend going.

OK, just started watching the Microsoft press conference at E3 and I'm seeing a MW3 demo, what did I miss?

Nothing, cause that's what they opened with. Holy shit... btw. I didn't think I'd care about MW3, but that was incredible.

Jesus, that was perhaps one of the single worst presentations I've ever seen.

Really, a buttload of Kinect kids games in a presentation that's generally intented for a more mature audience?

Some of those games would be embarrasing, even if they were shown on Ellen!

I wasn't a fan of that part either, but I know it wasn't presented for me. It's to MS' benefit to present this stuff now, so all the press at the event can spread the word to the parents shelling out cash for their kids. Most general press doesn't care about Halo, Call of Duty, God of War, they want to talk about unique experiences that are presentable to all ages.

Microsoft failed. Predictable Halo stuff, no XBLA games (mincraft, no thanks) and 80% Kinect stuff again.

The press doesn't care about Halo and God of war? Really?

I didn't say "the press," but I am referring to major and local news outlets. There are many different reporters/newscasters that cover this event that aren't focused on gaming and only feature generalized information. If all you do is feed them "mature" games, then they're less likely to promote anything from the event. Having worked for a couple local news stations, I can tell you that these "kiddie" Kinect games will get longer coverage on morning segments, and increase sales when parents see what their kids can do with the 360 and Kinect. Mature games get quick blips about release dates and sales numbers, but no live demos or reviews.

Showing some variety was in Microsoft's favor and they did at least show better examples of why Kinect was created and deserves to be further supported. I didn't personally see much to get excited about, but I'm not really expecting Microsoft to always carry the torch in software.
