It is no secret ever since the abandonment of the Saturn, EA and SEGA relationship has been terrible.

Their last big fight was on Simpsons Road Rage (to my knowledge) which ended in an out of court settlement.

Although it seems the company are finally berrying the hatchet which is a good thing as EA was instrumental to the success of the Genesis and Trip Hawkins was a sincere friend to SEGA.

Sega has made many (!bad!) statements about Nintendo and Nintendo still cooperates with Sega. Even giving away their IP to Sega to work on games such as Mario and Sonic.

EA and Sega is no different.
In the height of the 16 bit console wars? Yes, but not constantly they didn't. But then the development with FZERO between certain members from Sega and Nintendo wasn't as smooth. And Nintendo has given away their IP to lots of different companies. EA and Sega is a total different kettle of fish altogether though. Let's not pretend it isn't.
