I'm quite happy by the outcome myself. Like I've said in that other thread, i really don't care about politics, not at all, it's just a bunch of mud slinging. What got my attention in all of this was the conservatives/republicans trying to take away human rights for people they didn't agree with, or for people who didn't believe in god. Which is ridiculous, what happened to separation of church and state?
Republicans got owned and they deserved it. Trying to take away things that should be a basic right, such as abortion, and gay marriage. Things like that just because they don't think it fits into the vision of god.
Some states have even legalized weed, now. Four states made strides towards making gay marriage something that shouldn't be discriminated against.
In my state, Minnesota, two ridiculous amendments that republicans were trying to get into the states constitution didn't get voted in, thank god. One of those amendments was to ban gay marriage, and another one that would require an ID to vote.
Both of those amendments got voted out, and to boot, Democrats have taken back the legislative house in Minnesota, which means gay marriage is probably going to be one of the first laws to be passed, right now there is a law against it, which was made by republicans in the legislative house.
and of course Obama, people may have mixed opinions on him, i do too, but you can tell from his speech last night that he really cares about the country.
I'm just really happy how everything went. Last night was a big step forward for the united states.
I'll end this post with an image i found on neogaf
