Well this is the 20th anniversary of Virtua Fighter, and a Final Showdown tourney is underway this year, so I think we might get something VF related.

I think this may become a sonic year where the only thing SEGA is going to anounce and hype up is the next big sonic game. Which isn't a bad thing nesceseraly. Especially if it ends up really good. It would have been time they put a lot of attention into their flagship franchise. SEGA's got great franchises but sonic really carries the brand so I hope they take this next big title really serious.

I hope for more 3DS support though. Building a game for 3DS seems less expensive and since the handheld is doing so well, I think SEGA would be smart in creating a big title for the 3DS.

correctumundo. 3ds will be thee handheld of this gen. so sega would do well yeah bringing out at least one phantasy star. kinda dumb havin pso2 on vita anyways

Right now, the only major releases in the pipeline are Aliens: Colonial Marines and Phantasy Star Online 2.

I expect SEGA to start making annoucements sometime between February and March, because all things considered that's what SEGA's been doing for a long while.

C'mon, broniks, we already had a 2013 topic! Merged them.

SEGA has quite a bit releasing in 2013 (as seen on page 1):

• Anarchy Reigns - released this week
• Aliens: Colonial Marines
• Bayonetta 2
• Yakuza 5
• The Cave - Double Fine game
• 3 digital and 1 boxed Sonic titles
• 3D Space Harrier for 3DS, and potentially more?
• Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue HD rumored
• PSO2 - Western release
• Total War: Rome 2
• Football Manager 2014
• Virtua Striker and Virtual On for XBLA and PSN (unless they release this December)
• More Vintage Collections

We never know with the Yakuza titles, but thus far all the console titles have come west. I'd be shocked if it never gets a western release.

Yes.

Does anyone know if PSO2 is coming to Europe or USA on PS Vita? I love the Vita and PC games aren't for me. I also really liked Phantasy Star Portable on PSP, so getting the new one on PS Vita would be huge!

Should have noted "numbered Yakuza titles". To be honest, I'm surprised Dead Souls got a release, but I'd guess SEGA West figured they'd go along with the zombie craze. Samurai games, I'd think, are less popular.

You know Yakuza Dead Souls was in a way the predecessour to Binary Domain and it's shooting mechanics.

Yakuza Kenzan was until now the only ever Samurai/Sword-emphasized game by Sega, maybe a new international attempt could be happening. Some steampunk ala Orta/Gunvalkyrie with Lightsabers.

And you know most people contributed to Jet Set Radio are at the Yakuza Team. So why no JSR3 with the re-release selling well?

Dead Souls was panned by critics though (almost all of whom missed the point of the game completely).
I doubt Sega is tempted to bring any more spinoffs West.

Well it wasn't that good. It wasn't a great shooter, nor was it great in the classic Yakuza sense.

However Kenzan is pretty much a Yakuza game just in a completly different scenario.

Yeah Dead Souls was a bit shit I though. I haven't even gotten half-way through.

Anyway, VF6 I think is likely. There's a big arcade trade show coming early this year where it's suspected Sega will show off a new arcade board with some teasers for VF6. I really hope that means we'll get a console release of said game this year too.

Apart from that I'm mostly excited for Total War Rome 2.
