Ohh time Pilot. My friend used to have the actual arcade cab for that.

That was actually an early XBLA game too I I'm pretty sure...

Yeah, I'll be picking up 'Time Pilot'. I needs me some shooters to even out the bizarre buys like 'OINK!', even though I love 'OINK!'. I even like typing it.

Releases for 5/26: Boxing, Buzz Bombers, Haunted House, Millipede (arcade version), River Raid (2600 version), Spider Fighter and Strategy X.

Strategy X looks pretty awesome. I was about to pick up Mega Zone but I think I'll get X instead. I bought Time Pilot this week. What a fun little game!

Pack 5 hit yesterday! Seems to be a change in plans. THe pack has 15 games and it looks like 5 will unlock each week. Good news, three solid weeks of new games with no fear of Krome missing a release day. Bad news, two less games a week (but they'd probably be a uselessness sports title).

6/2
Frog Bog – Intellivision
Missile Command – Arcade
Mr. Kabuki – Arcade
Skiing – Atari 2600
Video Pinball – Atari 2600

6/10 and 6/17
Air-Sea Battle, Baseball, Chopper Command, Circus Atari, Liberator, Motocross, Konami's Ping Pong, River Raid II, Sky Jinks, Video Hustler

Pack 6 teaser:
Warlords (arcade)

Mr Kabuki is actually the first Goemon game. I never understood why so many people liked the franchise, so I obviously will not play it. Strange how they mixed the names up though.

Yeah, that naming fault was on the dude who shared the news with the XBOX forums. On Game Room it has the correct name. It's pretty fun! Like a speedy Mario Bros. 2 (english version). I like the classic Japanese art style.

I also picked up Missile Command as I had extra points lying around and the cabinet looked awesome.

Back in the thread which I mostly post in with game pack 6 news!

Pack 5 has one more week on it, and thus far it has sucked [spoiler:3bydz4tx]big floppy donkey dick[/spoiler:3bydz4tx]. The only pack 5 standouts were Liberator (out next week) and River Raid 2 (out today).

Pack 6, however, has a awesome selection:

Arcade games:

    * Black Widow
    * Juno First
    * Major Havoc
    * Scooter Shooter
    * Warlords

Atari 2600/Activision games:

    * Casino
    * Crackpots
    * H.E.R.O.
    * Kaboom!
    * Laser Blast
    * Sky Diver
    * StarMaster

Intellivision:

    * Star Strike
    * Triple Action
    * Utopia

Kaboom is a damn classic, and some of those titles are too hard to pass up just to see what they might be. Going to be downloading this one for sure.

Just an FYI with kaboom, since it used that funky Atari paddle, the controls are mapped differently for the joystick.

I had thought Game Room was shit when it came to paddle games, but I learned that the way they mapped it is actually in a 180º arc moving from the left to the top and then right of the analog pad. Hard to explain, but basically, if one is moving left and right with the stick for stuff like Kaboom or Break Out and the controls will feel slow or too fast, it's because one isn't moving the stick in an arc.

I haven't tried it myself, but according to another Game Room user, this is how they mapped it. I'm going to be demoing a few paddle games to give this control method a try.

Warlords is great -- if you are playing it multiplayer.  It's just so-so against the computer.  I already got it for XBLA though, and never could convince any of my other friends to get it.

Updates!

June 23rd releases: (Atari 2600) Casino, H.E.R.O., Laser Blast (Arcade) Black Widow (Intellivision) Triple Action

June 30th releases: (Atari 2600) Kaboom!, Crackpots (Arcade) Juno First, Warlords (Intellivision) Star Strike

I've DL'd H.E.R.O. and Black Widow, both are excellent. I love the twin stick controls for Black Widow, and HERO plays like a good version of Spelunker (the horrible NES game).

I demod Kaboom! and controls aren't too bad. I tried rolling the stick and it worked MUCH better than left to right movement. I'm 50/50 on getting it, mainly for nostalgic reasons. From what I hear, Warlords controls rather well and Crackpots is worth trying and maybe buying.

H.E.R.O. is comically bad in today's world.

I totally fell in love with Black Widow though, very cool game with really nice graphic designs and art, the sounds were really awesome too. This will probably be the first Game Room title I purchase.

I had to get HERO just so I could show a friend of mine, who has a sick obsession with Spelunker, how to properly do a cavern game with dynamite and lasers (which is basically like Spelunker's air gun). Funniest thing is that HERO is the dude who rescues the pathetic miners.

Last weeks releases: (Atari 2600) Sky Diver, Starmaster (Arcade) Major Havoc, Scooter Shooter (Intellivision) Utopia

July 14th Game Release details: (Atari 2600) Fishing Derby, Barnstorming, Quadrun (Arcade) Gyruss (Intellivision) Hover Force

Gotta say that I'm really looking forward to Gyruss, assuming the music is intact.
