I just finished The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling and am halfway through Cuckoo's Calling (her other book under a pseudonym), so far I feel Cuckoo's Calling is superior to TCV but both are great novels and I'd recommend both, especially to any Harry Potter fans on these boards (Barry?).
After this I'll probably read Confessions of a Mask by Yukio Mishima or the first Foundation novel by Isaac Asimov.
