Favorite current SEGA franchises
« on: September 05, 2014, 06:46:07 pm »
Hi, i hope everybody is fine.
In this new topic i would like to ask you guys which are your current favorite SEGA franchises. But the core of the topic is the next one, you can only chose between this franchises:

-Football manager
-Total war
-Sonic
-Company of heroes
-Warhammer 40000
-Hatsune miku
-Aliens games
-Mobile games (Not a franchise but you get the point XD)

As you can see i choose the most popular current brands of SEGA west, and this are the ones that i would like you to choose, only to see if there is some interested in our page to this games besides Sonic.

I personally love Sonic and some mobile games from SEGA, but i would really like to try the total war games and the hatsune miku games, and i am also interested in the new upcoming alien game.

Which are your options?

Total War
Football Manager
Company of Heroes
Warhammer 40,000
Sonic.

I'm the walking stereotype of a fan that SOJ caters to. I apologize to everyone in advance.

I love Warhammer, so I'm obviously excited for the next installment by Relic or a new game by Creative Assembly. Total War is a great historical franchise. I would say my favorites would be Yakuza games (not on the list but they are still being released and can be imported) and Bayonetta (still owned by SEGA even if Nintendo is publishing).

Sonic is cool, but honestly (even tho I own a SEGA site) I was never THAT into Sonic the Hedgehog. I played all the games and all that jazz but I made a SEGA site due to the fact that I thought most 'SEGA fans' only covered a couple of titles and mostly Sonic.

Haha *drum roll*

Seriously though, I don't care for any of their current IPs. I'm more of an old school fan.

None because most of those are not really Sega games. They acquired or licenses. Warhammer hasn't come out yet either and what i mean by that is a WH game actually made under Sega.

Mobile it will probably be KINGDOM CONQUEST and a Sega horror adventure game that i played a couple of times but forgot it name and can't find the file i was given.

Total War
Yakuza
Sonic (Colours and Generations)

I've also always been a massive fan of Alien so hopefully they can start making some good Alien games.

Made by SEGA

I accept them as being games owned by Sega..i even argued the case for them but the reality is they aren't games that are first hand Sega. It wouldn't matter as much if SOJ were releasing titles on a boarder scale but they are not. The fact that you listed their current line up and only one or two is actually made by SOJ(and some of those aren't directly) goes to show how crap the situation is Sega wise for the west. Sega to me anyways has been about a line up of games from various sources. When one or two of those sources are missing it makes it a weak thing despite how much profit they make. And you always need a bigger representation from the main factor of today's sega being SOJ in the form of arcade and consumer titles. Like i said i understand why that isn't happening but it still doesn't change that its a large hole in their current western portfolio...

Besides the obvious (Sonic!), I've found myself haplessly addicted to Miku's Project Diva Extend recently. I have the demo for Diva F on PS3, but I've not really played it - whereas now the upcoming 3DS game is on my to buy list (I mean, it even has Puyo Puyo built in!)

That aside, I generally stick to the classics for SEGA games. A lot of their newer IPs don't interest me as much as stuff like Space Harrier and Virtual On. I mean, they're probably amazing games, but they don't capture my interest.
