As for the Messenger Kit for Xbox360, I never saw much stock in that thing, if you want to type fast messages just use Xbox.com to type and send them on your PC/Laptop.

I use MSN on my Xbox 360 a lot. It was one of the best personal purchases I made in 2009 honestly.

*Ferrari Challenge
*Just Cause 2
*Wheelman (Vin Diesel)
*Mercenary 2: World in Flames
*MotorStorm
*MotorStorm: Pacific Rift
*DiRT
*Far Cry 2
*Unreal Tournament III
*Saints Row 2

- I cannot recommend these games as must buys. They are alright, most of them fun. But not most buys.

Agreed, George. THose are the games that you buy AFTER owning all the AAA titles. Or, one or two of those are good for one strong aspect of the game while other aspects may be weak. Just Cause 2, for example. Fun free open world gameplay, but bland plot, music and characters.

Shit, we forgot PC entirely, I will also add some of my other favorites (even though I said I would not!) >,<

Empire: Total War on PC
Napoleon: Total War on PC
Lost Odyssey on Xbox 360
Batman Arkham Asylum (on both HD platforms and PC)
PAIN on PSN

I disagree with Fluffy though. Mega Man 10 is easily the worst in the 'classic' series of Mega Man, 9 is really good though.

Can we add stuff like Halo Reach and Gran Turismo 5 because we know they will be some of the best games of the year? I never played them yet, but apparently Alan Wake, Red Dead Redemption, God of War III, Forza Motorsport 3, Mass Effect 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction are some of the best games this gen. Should we add those just because?

Also, Alpha Protocol just because we all know it will be amazing.

I have not played Splinter Cell, not too impressed with the demo. God of War III I have not picked up yet. Don't know what the community feels about RDR and Alan Wake.

Alan Wake looks to be awesome, but I'm not too into survival horror. Unless the game has more of an Ico route with the battles (dark monsters appear, kill 'em off).

I'd say we recommend games that are released and played by us, not speculated to be good. For all we know, Super Mario Galaxy 2 could be shit! ;)

I was really surprised by SCC, I always wanted to get into the series and think this looks like the best yet, but apparently you need to play earlier titles to understand the story well. :(

RDR seems like it will be one of the best games this gen to me, and G was recommending me Alan Wake up and down all day yesterday!

Everyone I have talked to about the game says it is really very good. I think it looks great too, I like how it will have more open levels for exploring like Super Mario 64 had.

I can only comment from my perspective, I like games of all genres but prefer more feature rich titles to casual games.
For example, I enjoyed Sonic Unleashed but I wouldn't reccomend it to people that are not Sega fans, mainly due to the mundane werehog levels.

PS3:

inFamous
Uncharted 1 and 2
Ratchet and Clank a crack in time
Burnout paradise (multi platform I know but the superior version)
Little big planet

360:

Banjo Kazooie: nuts & bolts
Left for dead 2
Gears of war

Wii:
Hotd overkill
Madworld
Punchout
Mario galaxy
MKwii
Twilight princess
Metroid prime trilogy

360/PS3:

Batman AA
Assassin's creed 2
Bioshock
Fallout 3
Elder Scrolls 4: oblivion
BFBC2
SASAR

XBLA/PSN

Rocet Knight
Critter Crunch
Blue Toad murder files
Bionic Commando rearmed
Banjo Kazooie
Afterburner climax
Outrun online
Super stardust hd
Crash Commando

by no means comprehensive.

I was joking about the game looking like shit. ;) However, I'd still not consider a game worthy of the OP's list until I play the game myself. I hear Uncharted 2 is good, but I cannot personally call it a "must buy" as I've never played it.

I wouldn't quite put Splinter Cell Conviction on there just yet. It's very very good, but not quite a 'must-buy' I think. As for how it compared to the rest of the series, It's up there, but hard to compare since it's radically different to the rest of the games. I think Chaos Theory is still the best of the SPlinter Cell games.

Which reminds me, should be be adding 'Games on Demand' to the buyers list? Because I nominate Chaos Theory and Jet Set Radio Future if so!

As for retail 360 games, figured I should throw in my 2cents with

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: After all this time, STILL one of the most impressive 360 games, and just an amazing RPG. Everyone should try it out.

Fallout 3: Basically an alternative to Oblivion. They are both pretty similar in terms of the freedom and wealth of content, I think the main determining factor would be which setting you prefer. Fantasy or Sci-Fi/Post Apocalyptic.

Bayonetta: Best game on the system IMO

I have not played the updated PS3 build of Bayonetta, worth putting on the PS3 list?

Red Dead Redemption seems to me like an overhyped GTA4 reskin.
