Some impressions from Sonic Retro member RuRi:
Quote
I played this at EGX Rezzed on Thursday, it was actually pretty fun!

You can charge infinitely to just smash everything in front of you, shoot water to put out fires or grow plant platforms or what have you, ground pound, a diagonal ball bounce attack which comes out pretty fast, an uppercut to get things above you and some kinda flutter jump like Yoshi or Klonoa.

Played a tutorial and two levels, which basically have you going through a level smashing up bad guys and saving hostages. Definitely something to consider getting. It also has a really nice cartoony artstyle, with everything producing the SFX effects like it's something from a comic book.

Lack of WII U should be a given honestly. I have lots of respect for those that do support the e shop but Nintendo has to get its shit together first. Even if it did come on wii u, itd be stupid not to pick the other versions instead unless one only owned the wii u, which i assume are very few

The problem is the same as it has always been, 3rd parties don't make the numbers they need to sell on Nintendo consoles. I think a big part of it comes from Nintendo themselves, they hype up their own games incredibly well, but they don't push 3rd party games as much as Sony and MS are willing too. And the end result is that 3rd parties see a better place on other consoles.

They said in a interview they felt liberated working with SEGA (or was it other platforms?) regardless they also said they got a lot of stuff on screen on this game and it runs smoothly.

I seen people ask for it on 3DS and Vita. Why not join the rest of the 200+ million userbase of Xbone/PS4/PC...

I doubt many of those who are dissapointed only have a wii u. I think they're mainly dissapointed to see their favourite platform treated as irrelevant. Though this is coming from a fan of the wii u, i think nintendo console online platform needs a huge overhaul. No way id choose a multiplat digital game on wii u over evrynything else. I think this is the case for many people

I doubt its a hardware issue honestly. Though the trailer seems to chug in the framerate sometimes, probably an optomization thing . Im actually surprised how demanding some 2d games can be

You're kinda missing the point of having it on 3DS or Vita...

You're right about that.

George you're thinking too small, iOS and Android, the entire human race should be able to enjoy this game!

Here's someone playing Tembo at rezzed... Not particularly well...  I hope that jungle stage is more than just a tutorial, it's one of the nicer looking environments!

That looks super awesome. Thanks for finding and sharing. Sold me on the game. Not that I wasn't sold before with the direction and music used in the trailer, but seeing a full level gameplay, even if the person wasn't so great. It looks awesome. Looks like it takes some practice and skill to get through the level fast. I wonder if we'll ever get footage of anyone playing the game well before it comes out.

Can definitely see the Sonic Team influence talked about in the IGN interview. Much more excited for this game now that i see it's going to be fast. I like fast games.

Based on the original trailer I was going to say this game looks like shit.

Seeing the gameplay footage from Rezzed, I'm going to say it looks okay-ish and I'll wait and see.

Personally it just looks really slow (to be expected, with an Elephant character), graphics are too flash game looking, and the gameplay looks really stop-start-stop-start. Has potential to be good, so I'm not writing it off, but also don't get the love.

Commence hanging shit on me.

I don't get why people think it looks like a flash game... Make the vid full screen HD and tell me that looks like flash, or anything cheap at all. Don't get that argument, it looks really good to me.

Please tell me people aren't seriously saying that?  ::)

If they are, they clearly don't know much about game development and how flash works.
