Actually the only conference I care about is MS. I think they'll have the best showing, mainly because they have a lot to prove.

I have a feeling they are going to embarrass themselves and under deliver.

Sony will have Yakuza 5 and possibly (READ DEFINITELY) Shenmue.

Impossible to top. You'd need... clone Yakuza 5 and clone Shenmue to stand a chance.

Sliiconera is saying Sony also has a FFVII remake. Things are about to get interesting today. No doubt MS will have some good stuff, but a lot of Neogaf insiders have been saying for a long time now that PlayStation E3 would be the comeback of Japanese games. It's starting to look like that is true.

Obligatory gif:

Hype Train isnt even an accurate descriptor anymore for most of the internet it seems. people are going insane.

I have never been more excited for an E3 until this year. You can FEEL the electricity and hype going around, it's fucking amazing. I love this time of year so much. I wasn't even that excited at all for Sony until the possibility of goddamn SHENMUE arised. I'm still a little cautious, but it's absolutely most definitely Shenmue.

We got four conferences to get to today, so I hope everyone can at least get to a friend watching the conferences and not miss out too much. Consult the guide if you are lost:

So unless Nintendo or Sony pulls a rabbit out of their ass and showers the audience and everyone watching in gold, Bethesda won E3 with Doom and Fallout 4 alone. Any thoughts?

i left out microsoft bc honestly who gives a hoot

Doom looks pretty good from the trailer I saw, haven't seen anything of Fallout yet but I heard they fucked the skill system and it's an interracial marriage simulator now.

I'll look up FO4 now.

Meanwhile, Sony conference is at 9PM which is when I'm out. I'll have to try and follow as best I can with patchy wi-fi and asking friends to check updates on their phones or something.

EDIT: Reading details about FO4, I don't really like what I hear.
Mapping dialogue to face buttons, calling in air ships and shooting mini guns from it :/
There is some cool sounding stuff, the dog might work well (but I'm not sold) and the idea of building a house is interesting. Not sure I like the idea of 700+ guns you can mod and tweak at all. I thought part of the charm of Fallout was having guns that worked or didn't work with your character build instead of having literally hundreds of weapons. Like, "Oh that gun looks cool, but my skills in heavy weapons aren't enough to use it. Maybe next playthrough!"
Building a house and decorating it might be fun. Little touches like that are nice.

^Well it's all optional stuff as they stressed. I didn't hear anything about the skills system at all during the conference, just a brief snippet of character generation where they alloted their SPECIAL. I'm very excited about the idea of gun customization and the completely reworked crafting system sounds pretty cool. It sounds like stuff tooled for certain playstyles, but it's something everyone can do. I imagine the focus is still on different guns on different skills, so you're not gonna be able to go through the game using pistols, then switch to an automatic plasma rifle and be a god with it.

Doom just looked cool, even if the music sounded like ass (seriously, it sounded like bit crushed, slowed down renditions of the 32x version's soundtrack), Hell in particular looked right out of a heavy metal album which I absolutely approve of. It looks like they're taking everything that worked with Doom 3, making it even better, and throwing out all the stuff that didn't work and going back to the drawing board on it.

Oh I meant to say, the crafting might be similar to packing your own ammunition and making stuff in Fallout New Vegas. I don't think it'll be bad, I'm just not sure how its going to work.
I'm very sceptical about this game in general, so yeah.

Doom 4 I've only seen the trailer, I didn't see the E3 gameplay, which I'll try to track down later today!

Oh, I wonder if Cup Head will get shown! I really want to see that game again!

I can't help but think MS will be the strongest of the three this year. Sony have already confessed to looking weak this E3, Nintendo are in the middle of a rebuild from the Wii u corpse and are just bringing attention to what's already in development. I'm pretty confident in saying this will be the last E3 for the Wii u and we'll probably see some late Wii u games (Zelda, Starfox, maybe even a Splatoon port) on the new hardware.

Sony has Shenmue III though.
