Japanese gaming is in a terrible way, but its of their own making :- Inafune-san called it right years ago, but SEGA been on a massive downward spiral for years now, both on the consoles and even in the Arcades. Would have liked SEGA Japan to at least be a bit more like Squaresoft , but no... SEGA Japan can't even do that. Just becasue some other corps have gone that way and all but given up on the consoles,  doesn't mean SEGA Japan should have .

Inafune was one the culprits of their own downfall, a person who renegates that things couldn't work like he want to always seems to be implicated in that problem.
Did you mean Square-Enix in that phrase? Because SquareSoft no longer exist more after their merger in 2005 because of the over-producing stuff that generates the left of big devs and the amount of shares bought by Sony.

Skipping E3 isn't that big of a deal, as its not a consumer show but a trade show . It's just  the direction SEGA Group  is going in that's the issue , there's next to no console games to look forward and nothing at all from SEGA Japan , even Namco, Capcom and Square at least have some next gen games to look forward , even on PC its very limited from SEGA .. There's Football Manager: based a sport, where there's little love for  on this board and people go on about Total War and all that...When half the time they don't have a rig/PC able to play the game at their  its highest/Half decent setttings .

I can say something about Bamco but Capcom and Square-Enix have 1 relevant project a year and they are mostly sequels, so....yeah....

Its just a list of excuses

I can agree with that in some way or another.

No he called the downfall for Japan as a force in video gaming years ago and was quite right for the most part.

What we got coming from SEGA that isn't a sequel then or some cheap mobile game . Square , while I'm no fan of the corp, they  have some amazing tech and the new FF game looks impressive , Capcom have some nice tech and we all know their teams are busy making sequels to SF, RE and DMC and while its not much at least Tekken fans have a new game to look forward too, VF fans haven't even got that .One AAA PS4 production would be a start from SEGA Japan , but we haven't even got that to look forward too

again, at least they released two PS4 Yakuzas already.

And Yakuza Zero looks real nice, one of the best looking games on PS4.

I hope we eventually get it in English.
Speaking of Y0, has Aki-at imported and played it yet?

You mean PS3 ports . C'Mon its not that great and we've got nothing to look forward too at the moment . And Yakuza Zero is far from one of the better looking PS4 games. Ok sure I've only played the demo, but its nothing more than a great looking PS3 game running on the PS4.

Nah, thanks to Yakuza 5 being brought over I'm sure Sony will help SEGA bring over Yakuza 0, more so since it's a Playstation 4 game. It might even get a sole Playstation 4 release here like Dragon Quest Heroes did (Which was one of the games I wanted a Playstation 4 for.)

George wrote a piece about why SEGA does not have a booth this year: http://segabits.com/blog/2015/05/06/get-your-facts-straight-sega-not-having-a-booth-at-e3-2015-and-what-it-really-means/

Papa George cutting through the lies and getting to the cheesy TRUTH!

I admire George's articles like these, but I think the horse has well and truly bolted on this one. Public perception of Sega is in the toilet, and I don't think Sega particularly cares, since it doesn't seem to hurt sales of their output, maybe apart from Sonic.

I hope that Sega actually does have some decent stuff to show at E3, but I think most of the public has written them off as dead.

The comments should be fun.

Neither Capcom or Square Enix have released PS4-only games thus far. Well except Type-O, but yeah...

Do you think Y0 will be translated? I was thinking it wouldn't be likely, unless Y5 is a decent hit on digital space. I figured Y5 translation was Sony trying to throw people a bone/pad out their lineup for the console more than anything.

I hope it does though, the game looks really good as usual. Y5 will no doubt keep me busy for a long time though.

It's not like the release schedule for the Playstation 4 is improving anyway, we're still getting massive delays and the announcements are far and few in between. I believe last year there was only 200 disc releases.

So I think Sony will continue to try and pad out their schedule.

Who plays these games!? WHO KEEPS BUYING THEM!? Apart from Happy Cat. And that one guy I know who plays it on his Vita.

Hmm, fair point. I guess we'll see. Hopefully it would be released on PS3 and PS4 in English. Did we ever find out if the Chinese/Taiwanese version would have English subtitles?
