^ I agree although Colors is not the "Sonic game" that I like (without any intention of offending anybody but this game is for Nintendo Fans and their likeness in platformers).
It's funny that ST since 2005 use their second division creativity speaking to do some "experiments" in their projects and take the good things about them.
From Rush (2005), they take the Boost gameplay to Unleashed (2008).
From Secret Rings (2007), they take "Sonic as the only primordial character" and the sales-wise kid-friendly demographic to Unleashed (2008).
For Generations (2011), it's mostly a combination of Unleashed, Colors and other things.
For the 2016/25th Anniversary game, I recall they're gonna use the better things from Lost World (2013) like the better implemented 360° control, not so much emphasis on speed and badnicks (man, in LW there are a lot of them).
