Ameba and Xenocider in development by Retro Sumus

Hello, my name is Carlos and I'm a writer and all-around communications guy at Retro Sumus, a small dev team located in Spain. We are currently developing Ameba and Xenocider for Dreamcast and PC.

As some of you may already know, Ameba is a detective adventure in the form of a western-made visual novel. The story takes place in Madrid, Spain, and the main character is a veteran senior officer from the Policía Nacional.

Also, we just started our own Dev Diaries, so just in case you guys want to know more about how both projects are going, you can check out the first two chapters. Chapter 1 is focused on Xenocider level design, while chapter 2 shows composer Juanjo Martín coming up with a great piano tune for Ameba in his studio.

I'm not a fan of visual novel games but Xenocider looks fun.
More interested on Xenocider.  :)

I'm not a fan of visual novel games but Xenocider looks fun.
More interested on Xenocider.  :)

Then I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of our Dev Diaries. The third one will be about Xenocider as well :)

Daniel Horvath aka 108stars, who did the pixel art for Pier Solar, interviewed me the other day for NexGam. The interview was conducted in english but there's also a german translation (as the website's in german, obiously). A couple new details emerge. You can read it here:

I joined Tom Charnock and the rest of The Dreamcast Junkyard team for the 20th episode of the DreamPod! New details about Xenocider and specially the Saturn version of Ameba emerge!! :D

What's the big news? Well, as you know, Ameba will be released for the Saturn as well. But the new details are: we are releasing the game in a cardboard box similar to the classic japanese ones which included game+cart. Why? Because we are using a custom cart too! :D
