I wonder how they'll actually do a DLC for Genesis... if it'll just be an extra already included on the cart, or if they'll do something crazy with the cart connecting to the internet somehow

Most likely just an extra already included on the cart.
If it is, the release date could be delayed since they had to add that in the rom before flashing in cartridhe.

The one who planned DLC with the cart connecting to the internet is PAPRIUM back then.
Not just online DLC, but also network play, online updates, MCD AI and a DSP.
But those plans never came into fruition.

Moved Sub-Assault (Sega Master System) to 2023 List since the rom is out now

Jumped a few versions here but now we have something that actually resembles a game! While there are still things I want to add in the future (line scrolling wave effects, an enemy submarine that follows you around, FM music etc.), this project is kinda in limbo and I'm unsure if and when any new updates will be made.
Because of this, I've decided to publish it in its current state to ITCH.IO so you guys can at least have some fun with it in the meantime...
