Which would be ironic given it's trying to make the game more mobile like, with auto-run.
Yep, ironic, their new direction is really hit and miss.
That's fair. Especially if the Cathodes have abilities you want to keep that are lost when they're Anodes.
Like, you have a dark knight character with the ability to deal heavy damage to all your foes, but then they go on a redemption quest and become a paladin of the light and their heavy damage is replaced with heavy healing. Healing is all well and good but the heavy damage was still useful.
This also apply to characters when they are on vacation and accidentally met with enemy so they went into beach mode with more revealing outfit and different moves than usual.
Story-wise, when the vacation's over they're back into normal mode and beach mode characters ended.
But we still could pick them in battle mode since players probably's not interested in getting their gacha if their playability's only limited in one event.
I can't be bothered to copy-paste everythig so I appreciate if you take this SNN post of mine as my direct response to this. It isn't a link to someone elses post, it's still me that written it all out.

Including later posts of mine on that thread.
The TL;DR of it all is I found the Shadow update the most disappointing update in Reborn yet and I think Sonic Seed Sim Legacy was so much better game than Sonic Speed Sim Reborn. I mean, yeah I love the expanded worlds and appreciate the leg room but not when I'm crippled to enjoy these expanded worlds.
Yep, just do that.
I'll definitely read it if you shared the link.
And I don't think I'll have much to say since I haven't been touching the game in weeks,
but reading your post making me feel I don't think I've missing something interesting.
Such an underwhelmed event for Ultimate Life Form character....
