That won't happen Barry.
Yes, this is an hardcore-oriented pad. I doubt casuals will bother about the D-Pad. But it won't be the norm. New consoles will always come with the standard controllers.

T_T b-but I'm a hardcore casual! I want the best of both worlds! T_T

EDIT: Oh I know Sonic Unleashed had minor ones. The blue button (X) was supposed to make a blue blur, the red button (B) was for feet related things and the yellow button (Y) was used for doing the light dash on rings. Pretty neat.

On my short list of things I loved about Unleashed was that. Even if unintentional, it totally made sense and was a neat touch.

There's no time to talk about politics, man! Our button colors are at stake!

Speaking of which, I'm gonna try and take a guess at various console button colors right now without peeking:

Dreamcast:
A - Red
B - Blue
X - Yellow
Y - Green

$box 360:
A - Green
B - Red
X- Blue
Y- Yellow

Dat Triple:
X - Blue
O - Red
Parallelogram - Pink
Triangle - Green

How did I do...? *goes off to look after hitting the submit button*

I will never ever ever memorize the PS controller buttons, both in color and symbol placement. I think it has to do with my internal wiring. I am shit at Parappa and Umjammer and yet I've logged hundreds of hours on my PS2.

As for the XBOX colors, having memorized the Dreamcast I mess up quite a bit. The Tornado mini-game in Unleashed was murder.

DC is perfect as they grouped A/B with corresponding colors Red/Blue and X/Y with corresponding colors Yellow/Green. Also, the placement makes sense as it perfectly matches a color wheel:

SEGA = perfection

Then XBOX decided to copy from the best, but had to make alterations to avoid lawsuits. I guess I see what they tried to do, by placing corresponding colors across from one another rather than next to each other, but in my opinion it doesn't work. WHat they should have done was taken a queue from the Dreamcast and simply rotated the color wheel, making A/B Green/Yellow and X/Y Blue/Red.

See, it's almost there but not quite:

Lol, it's so true. I had that same problem when I first played Unleashed as well. I failed it a couple of times before scraping out a victory.

I do not think the PlayStation controllers are hard to memorize, but I could see square and circle being issues as they are similar shapes and colors.

Meanwhile, at the Hall of Awesome Upcoming Games:

Harvey Dent, you never looked creepier!

Harley Quinn, you never looked... Actually I do not know what to think about her look in this at all!

Hey look at how neat this screen is!

As I am writing this, a freeloader who was living here has finally packed up his stuff in a truck and moved out.

I suddenly feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.

Yeah it exists:

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

FUCKING

NO

Sorry, but that controller is okay, but it's a monumental piece of shit d-pad compared to the Saturn one. As someone who owns both and plays fighters on both, I can honestly say the Saturn one is leagues ahead of that still. It's better than the Xbox 360 standard D-pad, but not as good as the Saturn one.
Don't take offense by the way Crackdude, anger isn't aimed at you, it's aimed at the pad.

There is a reason top players are still modding Saturn pads to use with PS3 rather than using those fight pads.

Actually Barrington, I have to respecfully disagree here. I found the 360 pad to be much better with colour placement, for the aforementioned 'Green = Go, Red = Stop' connotation. I know that A is always used to progress and B is always used to stop.

In any event:

Superman!?

Haha, seriously though, I would love Superman to make a cameo in the game somewhere, would be cool.

Yeah, my MadCatz FightPad already got freaking worn out from just a year's worth of off and on Marvel vs. Capcom 2 playing.

It's not that it's bad, it's just not durable enough.

Wow, they are trying very hard to sexualize Harley Quinn. They really want 15 year olds to buy this(I've been saving this for a week).

They'll show him in the background, flying through rings that are placed around the city.

Since we're also discussing the whole new Pad with non-colored. My opinion is the following: Screw this. There was nothing wrong with the colored button screen.
