Just got out of a fucking 4 hour long experiment on waving steel cilinders. Im ao freaking tired. I just had lunch its 4pm. Even my english ia coming out all rubbish as i cant even translate my thoughts good.
God this train ride is taking forever. And these old people and a black male wearing a sweater sayin WU-TANG CLAN in the front this is interesting

Not sure what to think about the third Batman title: The Dark Knight Rises.

It's like retitling "Return of the Jedi" to be called "The Empire Strikes Back Again".

Dark Knight Rises? Eeehh.

It uses 'Dark Knight' from the last film and just adds rises.

Should use something from comic that it will be based on. LIke Knightfall, Knightend? How about just Batman: Gotham City?

Considering this is the last Batman film (Or under Nolan's direction) Gotham Rises would probably be the best name I think.

Makes sense as a title.
"The Dark Knight" is the name of the movie that did obscenely well at the box office. Count on that name recognition, as well as paying homage to the Frank Miller stories (Dark Knight Returns, Dark Knight Strikes Back).

It's also probably a big part of the plot.  The Dark Knight was all about him being the behind the scenes protector of Gotham.  This one'll probably have something to do with him rising from the shadows to true hero status or something......I don't know.
It's only a title. Christopher Nolan's making it, so you know it's going to be good. Nothing to worry about .

As for Dark Knight Rises, I wonder what comics it will be based on this time. Batman Begins was mainly based on Year One, Dark Knight was based around The Long Halloween, I wonder what they will do for the last. It almost certainly won't be Dark Knight Returns... Maybe Aki-at can help with candidates since he's the resident Bat-Man-Fan. I would say Hush, but that's only because it's the only other one I've read.

Hopefully they make a good World's Finest Superman/Batman crossover.

We won't know what it will be based on at all till we know who the villains at least are.

I think Penguin is a likely candidate, at least in the background somewhere. I'm still wondering if they will try to continue with The Joker somehow, or if they'll even reference him.

Well we know two of the actors from Inception will be 'lead characters' in the new Batman.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be a confirmed actor and he sort of looks like the late Hedger:


Then there is Tom Hardy, who did Branson movie and won awards. He is also playing Mad Max in Mad Max 4. This guy can look like anyone really:

I would like to see Bane or Crok in some movies, they are important characters in the Batman's story (at least Bane) and never been used on movies

Nolan said Riddler is not in the movie and continues to state that two-face is dead. The first I believe, the second I'm split on. Nolan's early plans for the trilogy was to have two-face return. He stated it once, then didn't talk about it for a while, then when he talked about it again he restated that two-face died in TDK. My guess is that studio execs shut him up and want to have two-face returning as a big surprise. Just a guess though.

As for the Joker, not sure if he'll return. I think Nolan is happy to keep him locked up. At least the character is alive though he'd go unseen. Best they could do is mention his status in Arkham and maybe have him pulling strings from the inside.

Personally I'd like to see two-face return and see the introduction of the Penguin, of course I'd want the new Penguin to be less freak and more aristocrat.

After three years of record earnings, the mighty house that Mario built is reporting a net loss of ¥2.01 billion ($25 million) in the fiscal first half ending 30 September versus a profit of ¥69.49 billion a year earlier. In addition to the adverse affects suffered under a strong yen, Nintendo's sales for the first half of its fiscal year were down 35 percent to ¥363.16 billion due to lower demand for its Wii console. According to the Wall Street Journal, this represents Nintendo's first net loss in the fiscal first half in the last seven years. The future outlook is pretty grim too with Nintendo forecasting an annual profit drop to the lowest level in six years as Wii console sales decline for the second year in a row. Ouch.

After Batman Begins, I remember Nolan and Goyer mentioning a basic outline of the second and third movies. It was basically this:
Movie 2, Joker is the villian, Harvey Dent helps bring him down.
Movie 3, Joker scars Dent at the beginning of the movie while at trial for his crimes, Two-Face is the villian.

The thing is, they combined it all in the second movie to make Dent the big character.  I've read in interviews that Nolan wants to wrap everything up in this movie. In a way that you can't really do in comics, because the story never stops going.

I don't think Bane, Killer Croc, or Poison Ivy are going to be in it, just because Nolan wants to go as realistic as possible.

Honestly, they'll probably go with whatever villain fits the kind of story they're trying to tell, as opposed to picking a villain and writing a story around them.
I could see Catwoman being in there somewhere. Mostly because there's got to be some female lead involved.
