Thinking of selling my Volvo to the dealer.
It's a 1997 model, and the laundry list of repairs has gotten too long to handle. Check engine light on due to bad catalytic converter and front O2 sensors (I've already replaced a ton of things due to the light, but it remains on thanks to more problems occurring), squeals when driving long distances (break pads and possibly axle problems), air conditioning won't work (crack in the a/c system causes it to leak, so it will only remain charged for a few months before needing to be charged again), tires need replacing, big plastic bit on the bottom came off, it won't start in wet weather due to a bad main relay.
On top of all that, due to the check engine light I cannot pass state emission inspections. So I've been driving about for a year without the sticker.
Thankfully, car is registered and insured, so lack of emission sticker only gets a citation and $120 penalty... which I got hit with last week.
Total cost of repairs could be over $2000, possibly going into the 3k range. Not worth it considering the check engine light could remain on even after repairs.
Meanwhile, blue book value for selling to the dealer is $1,175. Downside, no car for me.
