My dad went out of town over the past weekend with my step-mom, and youngest sister on a trip to Toronto. They asked if I'd watch their two dogs, for a few days.
Not really a big deal, so I said sure.
I went back to the place for my lunch break from work, and it turns out the power went out. Not really a big deal normally, except that there was a pretty decent storm going on at the time. This ended up knocking out the sump pump, which resulted in the basement flooding. Needless to say, I didn't make it back to work, and the rest of my weekend was dedicated to cleaning things up in the basement. All the rugs were hung up in the sauna, and the remaining water was taken care of by a shop vac, and keeping a wood stove going for the 3 days.
The bad weather continued over the entire weekend, so I couldn't really leave the house, on the off chance that there was another power outage. On the plus side, I took this opportunity to finally finish the first Professor Layton game.
