If they had licensed music they'd probably give up all they money they would earn from releasing this. It's bad, I give you that but I wasn't planning on getting it anyway. Sup Sonic Adventure don't fail me!!!!!1112

And it kinda sucks removing all references to Pizza Hut, KFC, the GAP clothes store, the record store, but what are you gonna do.

Some of songs look really off...

Are there any good indie Punk Rock bands that could replace Crazy Taxi's soundtrack? I mean, there is Stroke 9 which are pretty cool.

For what it's worth, most DC games on Xbox Live Arcade/PSN won't suffer those many cuts.

I'm hoping for Skies of Arcadia, if it comes to XBLA/PSN to be the Gamecube build, I want all that new content.

Are these games going to have a Dreamcast start-up logo or any other kind of reference to Dreamcast in their intro identifying them as DC games?

I think there would be some brand value in doing that even if DC is dead it would help connect the new audiences with past Sega glory.

I would like to see the fans campaign for some kind of DC logo in these games.

They are using the DC logo in the "Look whose back" (or whatever) DC t-shirts at E3.

I don't think they would even need to do that. I'm sure that if they couldn't replicate it exactly, most Sega fans would have preferred them to actually use that back-catalogue of songs they have for once. Why not just replace it with renditions of Splash Wave, Final Take-off or anything from their old arcade games? Use the Climax remixes from Bayonetta even, they sounded great.

Hell, at least that would have some nostalgic value as well rather than just being some rock bands nobody has heard of who they could sign very cheap.

Oh well. I've mellowed out a bit since yesterday, still not sure if I'll buy or not though. I gotta say it's dissapointing to see Sega doesn't really give a shit about this stuff though.

To everyone trying to insult me: I realise I'm being irrational. I just hated that music so damn much.

In any event the second video wasn't quite so bad. .
The second video music blew hard, I much preferred the first video's music if I had to choose.

I don't get why this is so bad.

It's like the same sort of music, but with a much better vocalist. ^^;;;

It is slower and does not fit with the silly teenage edgy style the game is designed around. I would never listen to the original soundtrack outside of the game, but it just fits perfectly.

I mean, if we do not react poorly to this and make a big deal about it, what is stopping SEGA from changing the soundtrack of Jet Grind Radio without us knowing?

I disagree... I think it sounds like pretty much the same style of music.  I think you might find just as many people not that into hearing the Offspring soundtrack again as you will find people who insist it should be brought back.  Those songs were burned into my brain and, at the time, I thought it was weird that Sega went with all licensed songs for the soundtrack when they usually have their own musicians making the soundtrack.

As I recall there were a only a few licensed tracks in JGR, like a Rob Zombie song, which I remember feeling like did not fit with the rest of the soundtrack.  Most of the soundtrack was done in-house or as work-for-hire so I expect the vast majority of it to be intact.

Realistically, every single one of these Dreamcast games is going to be altered in one way or another.  Some ways will be good (HD), others a bit aggravating.  The only way to play the originals is to play the originals.  I can understand being put off by the changes... I was annoyed to see the Marilyn Monroe portraits missing from the second stage of Shinobi, but I figure it came down to legal issues with the Andy Warhol estate.  At the end of the day it's not that big of a deal.

The music they replaced it with is just as bad as the one the original used. Fans should be happy.

It's okay, you can use PS3 custom soundtracks to put in My Chemical Romance and some hipster music instead! Everyone wins! :)
