Outer space adventure is cheaper to make than new world since the background setting is usually in the spaceship or limited area.
A whole new world that is not earth would requires a lot of CGI if the new world's very different from earth.
But, making the custom set and the cost of special effects to simulate space, surely filming on Earth is more cheaper.
Why would you want to make a sequel of a movie that's failed to reach its break-even point.
I may not be much of a Warcraft fan, but I like the sword and sorcery it had.
Not the big shot though.
Birds of Prey (instead of Batman), Morbius (instead of Spider-Man) and Mufasa (instead of Lion King).
Avengers is a different scale of level.

True, but if two hedgehogs can take down a lion, they can perhaps take down champions.
If only it has a Christmas theme, it could always back to Top 10 every December like Home Alone, The Grinch, or ... Polar Express.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Director Talks About the Importance of Sega Dreamcast Music in the Movie

Quote
In an interview with ComicBook, director Jeff Fowler talked about the importance of bringing that track over from the games, and the effort that was put into weaving it throughout the film.
“Honestly everything that’s in this third movie was very purposely there. I think ‘Live and Learn’ and Crush 40 are such inseparable elements from Sonic Adventure 2. We just knew that was essential to this film. Tom Holkenborg, our composer, very smartly identified opportunities all over the movie to weave it through and make it inseparable from Shadow, including the very first scene in the movie where we get a few notes of it on Maria’s guitar. So it’s like from the beginning of the movie to the end of the movie, we just knew it had to be there. We knew fans would just ..."

Of course, setting in earth would be cheaper. I'm just comparing "a whole new world" set vs "in the spaceship" set that could be done in a studio.

True, but if two hedgehogs can take down a lion, they can perhaps take down champions.

It's the tamed lion, the lifeless live action version.
Not the original lion, the animated one.
The real's a tough one to beat, even by Disney themselves.
