I couldn't think of an upcomming Arnie movie that somebody would be dying for, his 2 projects on Hiatus are King Conan and True Lies 2.

Given the reboot of Conan is in post production, even if King Conan comes out someday it won't be with Arnie and True Lies 2 as awesome as it may be will never happen, and given that Terminator properly ended with the second installment and all future projects have just failed their was no point in mentioning another Terminator movie.

Perhaps people some one some where is dying to see Arnold return in Predator 3, he was suppose to reprise his role in AVP, but since the Predator franchise has left Earth and moved to their native planet that project will also never happen, nonetheless Arnie is still relevant no matter what his next film will be their will be crazy hype.

Duke Nukem is simply the character of Doom, with Arnold Schwaznegger, Bruce Campbell and Clint Eastwood fucked into him.

  Well met.

I checked DukeNukem.com and this is being done by 4 developers.

Piranha Games who is doing the Xbox 360 and PS3 ports of DNF.
3D Realms, Trypich Games and Gearbox Software are apparentely doing the PC game, tweaking and stuff.

Bit concerned about the graphics and any dated mechanics since it's been so long. But sounds like it has many modern features and it's in good hands with Gearbox. Really excited for Duke Nukem Forever.

My gripe is that you can only carry around 2 weapons as it seems? That's not good at all!
I love the "kill to get health" Ego system.

If they actually concern you, then you're probably not in the right audience for this game. :P

What are you talking about the graphics are indeed concerning even to the biggest of Duke fans, no body can deny that we expected the game to look better.

Although this would have been less an issue, if the game met it's last years summer release, and it would've never been a problem if it came out christmas 2008.

What have they been doing the last 2 years? My guess is that the game is going to be very very lengthy, hence why the graphics haven't been updated. Although that doesn't explain why the character model's.

If Nagoshi can give the Yakuza environments an early over haul, why can't gear box?

Yu Suzuki gave Shenmue Saturn a relatively quick overall as well, given AM2 pumped out multiple games for Arcade and Dreamcast.

The studio has about 2 months more to work on the game, if they want to release it on Christmas (I know they are saying 2011, but it will probably be earlier).

All of the Duke Nukem games had at least good graphics for the time.

Hopefully they will use some of that potential processing power on more enemies on screen at once or something, that would be... Dare I say it... Bitchin'!

Hopefully Gearbox isn't doing too many games at once. They called Borderlands a franchise, obviously they are working on a new one for that, then there is a new Brothers in Arms games, a unannounced Pitchfork game, they confirmed Aliens: Colonial Marines is still in the works, and lastly this game.

A bit much, no?

Am I oldfashioned to think that games come out better and faster if the studios work on one project at time?

I don't think so. I mean, most of the big studios right now that are 'very popular' and have won awards have done one game at a time.

Gearbox is pretty big though, it has 170 employees according to the WIKI site.

No they aren't. The "biggest" Duke fans will be happy just to even be able to play the damn game. For the longest time, it appeared that it would be lost to them forever.

If you're bothered by outdated graphics and gameplay, then this just isn't the game for you. The people who want to try it are interested for other reasons. Some people will play it for nostalgia's sake. Some people will want to see what all the fuss was about. Some people will even play this game for the same reason they watch awful, cheesy movies: it's low-brow trash entertainment. But nobody should be walking into it thinking it's a Half-Life killer with graphics that put Rage to shame or whatever. All anyone should expect is a mindless shooter game with an immature, misogynistic 12 year old mentality; one where guns and explosives solve all of the world's problems and where women are objects that are only good for fucking and for making dinner.

If someone is looking for an excellent game or a GOTY contender, chances are this isn't going to be it.
