Bought Sonic 1 & 2 for $2 each via the App Store. Gonna have to compare Sonic 4 to something! So far they control alright, little bit of slowdown. I'm using a first gen iPod Touch, but that really shouldn't hinder emulation considering the thing can run Doom like a dream and plays a good number of 3D games with no problems.

Is "The Simpsons" the old arcade game?

Simpsons is a different game, probably due to rights issues, but it's still a lot of fun. Plays a lot like Streets of Rage, lots of cool items and power-ups. Homer is the only playable character, but the family come in as the special power-ups. My favorite aspect to the game is that when Homer dies, you get a view of him lying on the floor and you swipe the screen to slap him back awake.

Sort of like The Simpsons arcade game, then, when you have to slap the family awake after their collective dream sequence.

After watching a video of the iPhone version, I can see that they tried to make it look like the classic arcade game (including an intro where Homer runs into Smithers causing something to fly up into the air), but it doesn't look like it's quite as much fun.

I read a review from Retro Gamer saying it wasn't as good, but it's probably still quite fun. Also it has that balloon mini-game.
