I picked up Enslaved: Odyssey to the West on sale.

Very good game, the only downsides are that it was far too easy for my taste and also pretty short. Perfect game to pick up on sale, I think you'll enjoy it.

I played a ton of this game when I was in college in Japan.  I want it back, and it will probably never make it to virtual console.

I'm really looking forward to it. The whole look of the game interests me a lot. I was pleasantly surprised with Heavenly Sword too, so I'm pretty sold on Ninja Theory as a developer.
I'm almost done Resistance 2, so I'll hopefully be playing Enslaved soon.

DVD rack with a capacity for 93 DVD cases, $25 at Target:

Totally clears up shelf space that I needed! Before I was storing DVDs behind DVDs and on top of DVDs, it looked a mess. Now I have all the movies going A-Z on the rack, and all the larger cases and movie series on the shelf.

I promised myself that Yakuza 3 would be the first PlayStation 3 game I would get, but I saw a really good deal for... (Aki and Pao are really going to hate me for this one)... Metal Gear Solid 4. I am a fairly big fan of the series and already know the story is stupid, I am more in it for the gameplay and I am usually a really big sucker for their unlockables, hidden easter eggs and jokes littered around everywhere. The game was only $5 new, how could I pass that up?

The funny thing is that me purchasing the console is pretty much entirely up in the air right now, I could be getting it in a few months, or it could be in 2012 or later, who knows?! This is the first game I ever purchased for a console I do not own. Trippy!

And I also picked up Mass Effect 2 because it is apparently amazing and I liked the first game a whole lot (any game that is hours long and gets me to start up a third playthrough and consider doing one or two more in the near future is a complete winner to me). I wanted to wait for the Platinum Hits release with all of the special content, but Orta kind of forced me to get the Shadow Broker DLC when it was 80% off, so yeah.

I then realized just how stupid it is of me to just start off on a 40+ hour RPG only to buy a 60+ hour one and consider playing them at the same time in a month I will be very busy in.

Unfortunately I got the Platinum logo crap on my copy of Uncharted 1 and Condemned. I've been tempted to re-buy condemned as the regular edition, but can't really justify it. I got Uncharted 2 in regular though, so awesome.

I used to be really, really bugged by that stuff, but now I barely care, especially when Microsoft usually bundles tons of extra stuff in their Platinum Hits releases. And now everyone but Nintendo changes their overall designs every few years, so it is hard to keep any kind of consistency.

Though I am still tempted to buy games I kind of like with great covers and not to buy games I like a good amount that have shitty covers. This is really something I would like to outgrow.

Uncharted 2 covers got pretty ugly after it came out. The whole thing covered with review scores is a bit much.

Yeah, this generation especially can get pretty bad with these. Batman Arkham Asylum: Game of the Year Edition was one of the worst I have ever seen and I am not sure why it is considered acceptable. Whatever happened to stickers?

@Sanus:
Don't let anybody give you a hard time about MGS4. It's a really good game. The story does a great job of bringing all of the games together, and making a bit more sense of MGS2.  Plenty of moments for fans of the series.

I've issued Sanus with an official warning for buying MGS4, and I'm going to give one to SOUP for defending this behaviour.

What can I say? I'm a big Kojima fan :D.

The thread about favourite toys growing up brought back memories of what I considered my own personal holy grail of toys.
I was a big Power Rangers fan growing up, and managed to talk my mom into getting me the Deluxe Megazord (from the first season) for my birthday. I played with that thing all the time. I could assemble, and dissemble it with my eyes closed.
I always wanted to get ahold of the Dragonzord, but could never track it down.  The only time I came close was on a trip to Belgium when I was 8. The only way I could've afforded it though would have been to spend every cent of my spending money that had to last another 2 weeks.  I was talked out of it, and regretted it ever since.
When I first discovered eBay (way before I was old enough to have a credit card), I looked this thing up all the time. I didn't want to get a used one, and I came close to winning a couple of times before it always went out of my price range in the end.

While doing a google image search for that thread I mentioned, I came across a website that had a sealed Dragonzord in stock, for much less than it goes for on eBay. I had a bit of extra Christmas money, so I went for it.

Picked up Last Hope Pink Bullets for $39, free shipping. I figured better to get it sooner than later, the thing already sold out on play-asia and the official site.

Also, pre-ordered Pier Solar (as featured on the main page)

Thinking I'll get the standard edition of Fast Striker next month and will skip DUX.

Its good, but I don't have 90 dollars. If i pre-order it, just for the low price now, will I be charged? Also when are they released? I might just pre-order it and save up some cash...

Amazon won't charge til they ship, which is in September. It's a ways off, but I pre-ordered now since $50 off is a great deal. Plus, with amazon you either pay the lowest price at the time of pre-ordering, or if the price lowers you pay that lower price. But they never charge you more than the lowest that it was when you pre-ordered. You probably know all that bidniz though, I just learned about it. Pretty sweet deal.
