Hmm, let us see. My name is Spencer Motter, I am Taro Yamada from Segafanatic.
I got into SEGA after years of being a Nintendo fanboy (1994-1999) and then a Sony fanboy (1999-2005). After being burned on PSP and realizing sony could suck to I asked for a Dreamcast for my 14th birthday (2005, but I did already have a Genesis) because I had fond memories of them when my brother had one. My brother was always the SEGA fan (from Genesis), I was too young to understand 3rd parties were not SEGA and I hated SEGA because I hated Street Fighter and stuff back then because he'd perfect me in those games. So I preferred Nintendo during that era. Anyways, went back to SEGA, decided they were the best and became obsessed with learning more about them.
Here I am now.
Outside of being a gaming historian, I am a cyclist, rock music buff, I don't wanna live in the US my entire life, probably gonna try to immigrate to Germany or Canada or something after University is done. Yes I am a student, I am majoring in Computer Science. I think I wanna go into securities, but I am open to other career paths. I took four years of Japanese in high school, I have been to Japan, even the countryside, I loved it. Tokyo is overrated, I preferred Kumamoto.
Sega has made some of my favorite games of all time. Shenmue 2 on Dreamcast with Japanese v/o is my favorite game of all time. English voice work blows. In closing Yu Suzuki and Hirokazu Yasuhara are the best ever, Hirokazu Yasuhara made Sonic what it was and he should be given more credit for it. Best level designs ever seen in a 2D platformer.
