So did anyone try it out?
I thought it was brilliant, quite possibly the best TW game since SEGA acquired CA.

Though it ran horribly on my computer, the gameplay was really amazing, the new RPG elements makes upgrading your generals/agents very fun, and the battle gameplay is more responsive than ever, the animations look really good as well.

I might actually try it out. I'm not a big total war player but I do like a good rts. The game seems to be huge here in holland as well.

As I suspected it brings my PC to a grinding hault and I can't get past the loading screen.

=(

I've got SO MUCH I need to spend money on this year too... I don't know if I'll be able to upgrade my PC.

Which is a shame, I have loved every Total War game since the very first one... Beat them all, except Empires which in retrospect wasn't that good.

What was Napoleon like? I played Empires and beat it with 2 factions (I think), but I went right back to Medieval 2 after it and skipped Napoleon since it looked too similar to Empires. I think that gunpowder combat just wasn't as fun.

Anyway, I completely forgot about this demo, I'mma download it now and see if it works.

Napoleon was Empires done right... But still very much like Empires.
TW gameplay SHOULD always be a melee afair.

If they want to go in a new direction I'm still waiting for my Tolken style fantasy game built on the engine.

I bought the collector's edition the other day, yesterday I tried to install the game but the only way to do it at that time was by downloading it from steam, and I did not have time and will to do it.

I find myself hating steam just when i have to do the initial install. It took like 5 hours to get Empire up and running on the bastard.

Yes, is exactly what mentioned by MadeMan which bothers me.

Then I agree with you Sharky, that Steam is easy and good; I appreciate especially the automatic updates to the games, the news section(about yours games) and some other stuff too.
