Way I figure, since Nintendo has various flagship franchises other than Super Mario, Sega should of established some flagship franchises to compete with those Nintendo franchises.

I don't think Golden Axe should of matched wits with Zelda given Zelda is more high-fantasy and Golden Axe is more hyborian, but I can imagine Alex Kidd being the counter to Zelda.

There is one franchise that was supposed to be the counter to Zelda : Story of Thor / Oasis series.
The franchise was labelled as being part of the Mega RPG Project.
Sadly it only got three games, one for Mega Drive, the sequel for Saturn, and one spin-off for Game Gear.

It's a cool idea to go with a Zelda-Arabian direction, but I can see why it didn't catch on.

How come the boys get cool fan art profile pictures, but Tyris only gets a sketch?

It just mean the artist hasn't finished working on Tyris.
The boys got the sketches too before.

Wlel, curious to see her final design.
Looks like the artist made her bikini more armour-like and curious how it looks.

And turned out it didn't take long to wait.
The final design has just been posted.

Pretty cool design. While stil not much balance in armour-wise as I thought, still pretty cool.

I always loved Mega Drive box art, some of them were on par with movie poster art at the time.

Indeed. One of my favorite is Hardball (by Boris Vallejo too).

I mean ... this image is really powerful, like a barbarian holding a sword.
They could choose easier way by having a photo of baseball players but they choose to go this route.

Pity we don't have video game covers or movie posters like this any more.
