Street Fighter V gameplay footage: Slow motion fighting
« on: February 03, 2015, 01:24:58 pm »
I have to admit, going from Street Fighter III to Street Fighter IV was a weird transition where it felt like the game was slower. But Street Fighter V is looking even slower....

What are your thoughts? Are we going to have to wait for the Turbo HD FIGHTERS ULTRADICKS EDITION?

What you think of them slightly improved graphics?

* Fucking holy fucking shit, why are the fireball collisions so goddamn fucking huge, when the fireballs clash you can't see a goddamn thing, holy shit.

* Animation looks nicer than SFIV I think. Chunners sitting pose in particular looks quite smooth

*Uppercutting Chunners through the wall looked a bit jank. Like they expected you to knock her at ground level not in the sky.

* It does look pretty slow. But then again this is two people who probably never touched the game until twenty minutes ago.

*SERIOUSLY CAPCOM FUCKING DIAL IT DOWN WITH THE FUCKING HIT-SPARKS HOLY FUCK.

* Chun Li chucking plasma like a motherfucker doesn't look much fun. I'm sure that will get changed though.

* CINEMATIC ULTRAS need to fucking die.

* Overall the match was very dull to watch, but then again, two characters only and nobody knows how to play the game yet, so I'm not going to judge it on that yet.

Did you wait for the Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdicks Edition?
I'm don't get the hate for fighting game revisions to be honest.

Did Final Showdown get announced less than a year after users paid 60 for a useless version? IMO revisions should be free, new characters and content not (see how Dead or Alive handled it). Why kill your online usage with needless re-releases to nickle and dime players? Is this mobile? Is this the 90's? There are better options.

I assume these characters gameplay isn't changing much. I had no issue getting right into 4 when it came out. Most likely PR control exhibition. (Showing off an early build) than it was a match.

I can agree balance changes should be free. I take it you're referring to Marvel 3 and Ultimate being released so soon after? I personally didn't mind that much, since all the characters bought seperately would have been more than UMVC3 anyway, they also improved the online considerably I believe so I can see why nobody would play the old game online.

But yes, I agree 100% that DoA is doing it the best  :)

But yeah I think we are on the same page, the biggest issue is that online dies for the old game when a new one comes out (unofficially, just because people wanna play the new one).

There are multiple ways to update, look at Capcom having Arcade Edition and Ultra be DLC updates instead of full blown releases for example. I still like the option of having a all in one bundle to avoid 'does this setup have the latest DLC+Patch+optional characters?' bullshit.

As for that match, yeah these early matches are all just exhibitions, wouldn't surprise me if they were partly scripted; "Make sure you win the first match, then he wins the second. You need to break the wall at some point so we can show off our awesome interactive backgrounds!!"
