"If one's burning, it's probably going to spread to the other. This can happen as a result of siege weaponry, flaming arrows or even one of the new special types of unit, the raiding unit."

What I found curious was the announcement on the Sega blog lists PC and Mac in 2015.

Traditionally as I mentioned elsewhere it takes several years after the release of the Windows version for a Mac version to hit the stores. Assuming this isn't a PR flub it is a VERY interesting development.

Maybe they are porting it side by side internally?
side by side with Feral or some other 3rd party?

Either way, if correct this represents a rather drastic change for a release. Though if history has taught us anything, it is that CA will probably do well with this title, just as Napoleon was much better received than Empire Total War's disaster of a launch

It would be great if they could NOT botch launch... It seems every other game launches with a million bugs. Though Shogun 2 was good. Rome 2 Took until recently to become the game it should have been at Launch.

Seriously though, I don't want to play as a filthy horse banger, but this might be really good. I want to play the Western Roman Empire and try to save it before it collapses like in BI. That was fun.

The second game using the engine is usually better than the first, so they might build on Rome 2 (Which I still haven't played. I should read up on the forums to see if they've fixed it yet. Also the Emperor edition is fucking expensive, I'm such a tight-arse now), I'm hoping this is a return to form for the team.


EDIT: Reading that preview now, it sounds like it has some great features! I love the idea of abandoning a city and razing it as you leave. I've wanted to do this so many times in older Total Wars, just leave nothing but scorched earth for the invaders while you regroup.

EDIT 2: Family tree! YES!


EDIT 3: Total War franchise on sale on Steam, except for Rome 2, of course. Also the amount of DLC for Rome 2 is fucking disgusting. Beast Unit Packs, blood and gore DLC. Ugh...
having said that, ROME 2 is FREE to all steam users for this whole weekend until Monday Night I believe. I'm going to try it out!

This is nothing new, every Total War game has had a stand alone expansion since the original Rome.
Rome had Alexander and Barbarian Invasion.
Medieval 2 had Kingdoms
Empires had Napoleon
Shogun 2 had Fall of the Samurai

Yo, Alexander was so much fun, I loved that game.

But what I mean is that most of those expansions save for Napoleon were marked as expansions and sold for expansion prices, not shown off as full sequels.

I don't care, I just hope this one builds on Rome 2 significantly. I want to try Rome 2 this weekend, it's free to all steam users until monday night.

You can't actually play as the Huns xD. IGN has another preview.

For PC exclusives? Most definitely. PC sections in gaming stores are shrinking very fast. I only used to buy retail in Australia because internet was so bad it was too hard to download a 50GB game.

I read the other day that CoH2 has sold over '4 million units', although I believe 3.5 million are 'DLC units' ranging from commanders at $4 to DLC costing $40.
