SEGA's Top Spin 4!

I really can't wait for SEGA (or should I say, Sega) to release Top Spin 4. Surprised more sites aren't covering this game.

I have fond memories of playing the original Top Spin on the Dreamcast. Fun fact: In Japan, it's known as Power Spin!

I'm confused. Top Spin never had anything do do with SEGA did it. It's games like NBA 2K11 etc that are made by Visual concepts (Sega Sports). Or am I missing the joke?

Anyway cannot decided whether to get Top Spin 4 with Virtua Tennis 4 just over a month away!

Sorry Grant, yeah, the posted article is wrong. What makes it funny is that they thought SEGA developed Top Spin 4, however they did not. Top Spin 4 is developed by 2K Czech (previously known as Illusion Softworks), who have nothing to do with any of the previous Dreamcast 2K titles and has no connection to SEGA past or present. Well... as Illusion Softworks they did develop Hidden & Dangerous which is on the Dreamcast. Though that was a PC port and has nothing to do with tennis.

Personally, I'd go for Virtua Tennis 4 because... it's Virtua Tennis! The original developers! Top Spin 4 has received positive reviews, though I know little about that series and as a SEGA fan I'd have to go for Virtua Tennis. You can get mugged playing exhibition mode! That alone makes VT4 the better title.

Totally missing the joke lol

And what are you talking about man, get Virtua Tennis 4 of course. No Top Spin has ever bettered ANY of the VT games.

Reviews of Top Spin 4 seem to indicate that they simplified it a bit, so it's less of a sim, but even so VT4 is where its at. No question.

I highly doubt Top Spin 4 will have the insane mini games that VT4 will have.

You mean someone from the crowd can run onto the court and steal your player's wallet?  Or is that some kind of slang?  My mind reels...

I wish.

No, from what I read, if you select certain spots on the exhibition map you risk being robbed/injured. So stay away from New Jersey!

If you choose Portugal your character will oversleep and miss the championship game.
Either that or your manager goes broke and you get caught driving drunk. You get arrested, but somehow manage to sue the cops and.... I totally forgot where I was going with this.

Actually, the deepest Sega game, Football Manager, once popped me a message saying my GoalKeeper had gotten a brain tumor or some trauma and wouldn't play any more (hint: he's dead).

Oops my bad missing the whole Joke. I really should read links!!!

I think I'll end up picking up both. But I'll get VT4 on day 1 and Top Spin 4 when it is on budget.

VT2009 was a big let down after VT3 had me playing until the early hours of the morning for about 2 weeks solid!
