Oh I forgot to mention Earthworm Jim HD's multiplayer mode. It is actually very good and quite impressive! The levels can run a bit long, but overall they are very well designed and are major fun for 2, 3 or 4 players. It is actually comparable to the main game in overall length even, very cool.
What is it about Deathsmiles specifically that is so embarrasing?
This is the North American boxart. Really awkward because it can totally scare off a lot of people, what is even weirder is that none of the characters even do anything like that.
Something I really love about the game though is how it uses all kinds of it's art in different places though. It is one of the very rare few set of games I have ever seen with original art on the cover, the manual, the game disc, the remixed soundtrack it comes with and everything else in the box. Really looks like they spent a lot of time working on it all. Especially after getting so many of SEGA's cheap ass cases do I appreciate it that much more.
Considering Snatcher sells for $150 and the only english language version is on the SEGA CD, I can understand not a lot of people playing it. I've held off playing emulated games on my computer because I just can't get into a game on a computer. I'd much prefer a controller and a couch. Though since the GP2X emulates the SEGA CD like a dream, and Snatcher is a great on-the-go game, I'm finally tearing into it.
Usually I see it well under $100, it goes for $60 and $70 all of the time. Do not confuse the holiday up-shift in prices.
The thing is, the game is just so easy to burn and play on the actual console that anyone is able to do it within half an hour of knowing the game exists. Not to mention how easy it is to emulate on even the weakest known hardware.
It really is an absolute must play on the actual SEGA CD though. Playing it at night with the Konami Justifier hooked into the second player port, always next to you because at any moment Snatchers can jump out of the shadows and attack you in real time... Absolutely brilliant experience that no other game I know of has ever been able to even come close to.
