I have played Mass Effect 2 for a couple of hours so far.

It is really boring and basically all of the RPG elements are gone or do not work anywhere near as good as before. The controls are weird and were both stupefied to work better in the market and some concepts are missing entirely. The cover system is barely workable at best and the way how items works now is just confusing the shit out of me.

I like some stuff, but most everything I hate. I think it is a bad sequel and regret getting it entirely.

^I disagree with just about everything you said. But oh well, to each his own.

Personally I thought Mass Effect 2 was one of the best games of 2010. I really enjoyed it greatly from start to finish.

I am surprised you and so many other people like it so much, I am not really sure what I am missing here, I generally enjoyed the first game a lot, even with it's flaws.

I mean, the cover system is really glitchy first off, it seems worse than the first one because of how the animation system works now, like how you cannot break reloading animations (very slow ones too). They also removed the feature to duck which is... So strange and stupid, like how some walls you get behind have corners you could get hit from, but would be able to avoid entirely if you could just squat a bit.

Where do I get weapons? I picked the Vanguard class mostly for the attack that sends you charging into the enemy fast, but that seems like a pretty stupid mistake already, almost all of my weapons are close range and are very hard to use right. Really would enjoy a sniper rifle.

This all feels like a normal action game with a lot of talking in it now. I honestly thought I would love that, but seriously almost everything that made it unique is gone now! There is not even a health system anymore, what is the point of calling it an RPG? I do not even feel on my toes with the fights, because they are always so predictable, either your weapon is out already before you reach the section or there are chest-high walls everywhere when no other sections are like that.

I cannot understand the universe map at all now. I like how it does not load in between menus, but seriously, how am I supposed to know where to go? The hub levels are freaking huge and the journal is no help.

Scanning for minerals is a complete joke now too. I know it was not the most exciting thing before, but I kind of liked it.

I could be here all night, basically I am pretty sure I hate the game.

Why did this get like 50 perfect scores? Opinions aside, there are all kinds of glitches everywhere!

EDIT: The game resets when your profile goes online. That is literally retarded. Not like it has any multiplayer or anything...

Got all the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic 4 and turned into Super Sonic. I came. You may now shut down the Internet.

Mass Effect 2 Legitimate Complaints

I really wish I could give you some kind of argument here, but I haven't played this game in nearly a year.  While I remember a lot of it, I can't really comment enough on the specific complaints without playing it again soon.

All I know is, I never really had a lot of issues with the control or the setup. As for 'why call it an RPG', it still contains a lot of character and party customisation with regards to their skills, and even more variety in terms of the branching story.

Not to mention it carries over all the decisions and effects from the first game, the only other games I can think of that do that are Shining Force III trilogy and Shenmue II (And Shenners was only really for the items and levelling up as far as I could tell).

I was sorely dissapointed by the XBLA/PSN port of Marvel vs Capcom 2.

I was playing it this afternoon and can't help but to think how lacking it is. It was clearly designed for online multiplayer.

It doesn't feature the cool intro from the Dreamcast version and everything's unlocked from the start...

The graphic enchanments were nice. The backgrounds look a lot better, but the characters seem much more pixalated.

That's probably because of the HDTV and VGA connection and the fact that this an 11-year old game.

But this one people probably needed those Genesis Collection filters.

^What were you expecting from the game though? There was never really much in the way of single player content anyway, apart from unlocking characters which was kinda fun at first, but just became a pain when you just wanted to play against other people and couldn't use every character.

In any event are you on Live or PSN? I don't think I have you on my friends list yet.

I beat Dead Rising 2, and the overtime bit too.
I enjoyed the game more as I played it. The shooting controls were pretty annoying though.

Yeah the shooting was always pretty weak in the DR games.

What was your favourite custom weapon? There were so many it's hard to choose. I liked the Plate Thrower, Defiler, and the Knife Gloves a whole lot.

Finished Castlevania: Lords of Shadow a few days ago. It was one of the most incredible games I've played recently. I really, really, enjoyed it.
Now I'm playing Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland, my favorite Harvest Moon game.

I didn't really have too much time to mess around with weapons because I was trying really hard to save all the people/take out all the psychos I could. From what I did make, I liked the knife gloves for up close fighting, with the laser sword as a backup. I'd try to keep the paddle-saw on me as much as I could too. That thing had some pretty decent range, and did a number on most things that I'd run into.

Paddle-Saw was great for crowd control, but was a bit too slow for bosses i found. The knife gloves and pole-weapon were probably the best weapons against bosses I found.

Okay, so I have to admit. I was all wrong about Mass Effect 2.

It has issues, way less than the first if you look at the big picture, but overall this is one of the best games I have played this whole generation, seriously.

I was having issues with the gameplay at first, mostly because I was finding the combat overwhelming and I did not like some of the changes I saw from the first, but overall they are for the best I think.

I was getting sucked into the story first, and then the characters... The first one had very good characters, sure, but this cast has some of the best I can think of from any game. Everyone is lovable and extremely memorable in their own way (except maaaaaybe Jacob) and they all have their own problems, morals and dark sides. Except Tali, she is perfect.

The length is just blowing my mind. There is enough fantastic content in here to last like seven great games, but they decided to just make one. I was playing it a lot the past few days, but I completely used my whole free Sunday on it. As soon as I finished breakfast and had a shower I played the game non-stop until like 12 hours later. I do not think I have played a game that long in one go ever. None of it gets dry either! There is always something new and interesting happening, it is crazy. Holy shit, I love this game.

I take back what I say with Halo Reach being the best game of last year, and now I am certain Mass Effect 3 will be one of my favorite games ever. Screw whatever else comes out this year, I know what I want for Christmas! Any takers?!

I used the knife gloves on most bosses, but there were a few that got knocked down by them. They'd usually rip into me right after. I found that I could just spam the paddle saw, and they tended to have less opportunities to fight back.
I've started playing it through again, to see if I can beat all the psychos, and save all the survivors in one run. I doubt I'll go after the other trophies.

@Sanus:
I haven't played any Mass Effect games yet (planning on picking up ME2 on PS3), or Halo Reach, so I can't really argue anything. I'm really looking forward to Uncharted 3 and Valkyria Chronicles 3 though.
