It's worth picking up. Basically, after hitting "A" through the menus (there is a menu faq online, but I was too lazy to print it out) you are shown a few cutscenes of the guy in his apartment, then you see a calendar. You can select days from the calender, and I don't think you are confined to an order. I played the first day of the week, then the third, then the second.
After picking a day, you then choose a sun or a moon. The sun presents a short cutscene highlighting your objective, for example have the guy set his alarm clock, then you are tossed into the apartment. You watch him via a number of camera angles, and get his attention by tossing invisible ping pong balls at objects. Toss the balls in a steady pace, not too fast, and the guy will go and use the object. Objective complete! After that, you can mess about until the timer runs out. The radio and TV have bits of Dreamcast audio and video. I swear I heard an advert for Sonic Adventure.
The moon allows you to fly/float about his apartment and mess with things. So far, I've been limited to one thing, but maybe this changes later in the game. You can lock the door, move the table, turn on the stove, etc. Then when you play the next day, you get to see him return home and react to the change, usually with a "wha-wha!? wha!??" and he walks about like somebody might be messing with him. Pretty funny.
oh yeah! the audio is fantastic. every camera angle change, changes the direction from which the audio is coming from. the TV sounded muted and to the left in the kitchen, but it was loud and to the right when I was in the office area.
Despite being all japanese, the objectives being visually presented make it easy. Not sure how far I'll get until something crops up that confuses me, but so far so good. If you like Seaman, the sims, or just odd imports, check it out.
