Playing the game of real life at the moment. Graphics are amazing, but you only get one life (lame) and the cops are complete assholes.

Urgh, there is so much fucking grinding in that game to get anywhere. Gotta do literally YEARS of school just to get into University, then you do that for ages too. THEN you have to get a job too. It wouldn't be bad if you could get into fights like in Shenmue or if there was a cool murder-mystery, but with one life there's no point in risking everything in the fights, and the storyline sucks.

The controls are brilliant though, very intuitive.

Agreed. I really wish I was on a quest to avenge my father. Instead I have to call him a few times a week and remember his birthday. However, there are TONS of mini-games. I'm playing this message board one at the moment. You have to keep your cool and not ban everybody. Really difficult.

^Itchy ban finger huh? haha

Also, I just finished Tower Challenge 5 in Zeno Clash, which means it's time to put that game to bed for a while. Very cool game, I hope more people try it out. Ended on a real cliff-hanger though.

As for what to play next, I'm still working through Shining Force 2. I also am fairly well underway in Muramasa but haven't played for a while, and can't decide whether to go back to that or start playing Fallout. I bought Fallout 1 and 2 last year for really cheap but haven't had a chance to play them yet.

Going through Bionic Commando on... well on Commando setting (hardest). Not that HARD, only issue is that when you die it loads. Seriously, number 1 thing devs should NOT do is LOAD the same fucking level you just played.

I like the 'challenges' it gives you while playing. Issue is that weapons feel off and 'missions' are a bit shit so far.

I also hate how they stripped away the humor that made Rearmed so awesome, gave it a wannebe 'snake' lead character with dread locks. WTF, really?

I gotta be openly frank, Resonance of Fate is a very hard game.
I can see that there was a lot of effort put into the combat system, because at first it seems very overwhelming, but the combat system is easy enough to get into.

Do a lot of scratch damage then deal direct damage and you can win a lot of fights. Simple as that, however, it does pain me to say this but Resonance of Fate, while bringing some fresh ideas, it does seem that some of it's elements are too grounded in traditional JRPG, namely it's difficulty.

After finishing chapter 1 in less than an hour or so, I'm am still stuck on chapter 2.

And while don't get me wrong, when you play your card right, RoF is a blast, but with this difficulty, it really hurts the game.

Yeah, I rented this game but got bored long before the end, shame as I was originally really pumped for it after playing rearmed.
You can change the character skin to original spencer but it looks terrible.

Playing Bayonetta again because I never actually did get the hard difficulty achievements. Holy shit, Grace and Glory were in the damn prologue twice? Seriously, not cool. I am still having a great time though, and will not worry about my scores for now, I just want to beat it.

I am going to pick up Final Fantasy IV (Super Nintendo release) again because I was really really enjoying it but never finished because I was busy with other stuff. I have a random assortment of other games I want to try out too, and I am trying to figure out what I should review new week for my site.

^Don't worry about high scores in Hard and Climax difficulty, just try to survive.

I started playing Fallout on PC yesterday, it's good but it's going to take some getting used to after Fallout 3. I've never really played a game like this before so it's a bit jarring at first, but I'm slowly getting into it.

Also playing a bit of Muramasa again, the game is exceedinly good looking, and it's got some good combat too. One big problem is the pacing though, it seems half your time in the game is spent just running through empty locations, and theres a lot of random battles as well. I think the game would have been one of my favourites this gen if they really tightened everything up. Have a smaller world with less/no random battles, just have a faster moving story and staged battles (a bit like Guardian Heroes did). Even so, it's a great game.

First thing I did.

What was Capcom thinking?

EDIT: Yep.

Orta and Aki also did

Most of the people who 'Comment' on the site just tell me about their thoughts or whatever through real life or an instant messenger. The actual Takenobu Mitsuyoshi commented on my article I wrote on him, so that is great! I bet he never commented on The Kartel.

EDIT: Just played the Rocket Knight demo not expecting much because I hated the art from what I saw and I never really even was a big fan of the series.

Well I am pretty sure most of the fanbase will dislike a lot of the new stuff (makes it easier, stuff like that), but the game is seriously a lot of fun. I am actually really impressed and had a lot of fun! The controls are just so much better, the gameplay is more diverse, offering less skilled players more enjoyment, the achievements are great too! It is 1200 points (ugggghhh), but I will have to pick this one up eventually! Good job Konami!

[spoiler:30w9zp6k]Fucking Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and its shitty gimmicks like STRANGE MINECART...[/spoiler:30w9zp6k]  :x

Played Split/Second demo. It's pretty okay, because of environment destruction and racing physics, but that's it.

Nooooo

I thought it was great. It felt like being in an action movie! And the drifting isn't bad!  :afroman:

Yeah, except there's no manual transmission in this  . Seriously, the R1 could be great for shifting up and L1 is for shifting down. I don't care if it's arcade-like, automatic is for the inexperienced (and no tachometer/speedometer means no go, meaning that you don't know how fast you're going).

Why do you care for manual transmission? Transmissions in video-games are semi-automatic anyway, few games have true manual transmission. Hell, I can only think of one.

If you want manual transmission, drive a car. It's my personal nightmare, tbh.
