I'm starting up PSO on the Dreamcast for the first time in my life.

PSO offline is pretty rubbish. Just letting you know so you don't get your hopes up. I played it offline years ago and didn't like it much, never played online though.

During the Dreamcast 100 I wrote this about PSO and how it feels to play offline:

Nowadays, booting up PSO and playing a game is akin to returning to your grade school on a Sunday as an adult. The whole place is empty and everything seems smaller than you remembered it. The lobbies are no more and my collection of guild cards are useless. Still, I have the good memories.

Well it is pretty fun. But I do wonder if there is any way at all to trick the console in to playing it on LAN or something..

Also, can I get the download quests somehow?

It works with the Broadband Adaptor in the Dreamcast.
If you've got a dialup modem in your Dreamcast, there is a way to run it through your computer that's hooked up to a network connection.  I'll see if I can find a walkthrough for it.

In the meantime, check this site out:
http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/portal.php

It's full of tips, and even dlc for online Dreamcast games.

The DLC is found here:
http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/php ... ontent.php

They've got the PSO downloadable quests on there.

No problem :).
I stumbled on this site when I was looking for the extra tracks in Samba De Amigo 2000.

I've been playing Rugby League Live a bit recently (Since i don't play big story-heavy games on weeknights usually, meaning Mafia 2 is waiting for Friday/saturday). I got the game through work, and while at first I hated it, I'm starting to get the hang of it. I'm not really a Rugby fan at all, so it's especially diffficult for me to get my head around it.

Apart from the NRL teams, they also included the Super League, World Cup teams and miscellaneous stuff like City vs Country, State of Origin and All-Stars teams. Pretty nice selection overall.

I haven't tried out the 'Create a team' mode, but I want to make a Sega All Stars team. Segata Sanshiro will be captain, and i'll include Kazuma, Ryo etc.  Any suggestions on characters to include and where to place them on the team?

Max from Streets of Rage 2 and Wolf and Jeffry from VF as Front-Rowers I think.

(Sadly the create a character mode is really, REALLY limited so they will look NOTHING like they should)

Dead Rising 2: Case ZERO.

I only played the first game on the Wii, so this is taking some getting used to. It's definitely worth the 5 bucks if you enjoyed the first game at all. You're under time restraint still, but since you're in a more open area as opposed to narrow halls in the mall it makes walking around more convenient (not really easier, since, you know, zombies :P).
That little human girl is one ugly little mother, though. Seriously, she creeps me out more than the zombies do. She looks like an even smaller Mickey Rooney.

Ohh Dragon Force, what is that like?
I bought it for Saturn a while ago now and haven't had a chance to give it the playtime it deserves. I should make a point to play it this year (and Panzer Dragoon Saga).

What was it like on Wii? I loved the game on 360, but heard the Wii version was really really bad. Glad you liked it either way, and hopefully that will mean DR2 will be even better for you! I know I'm looking forward to it.

It's an awesome game.  You should start up a campaign.   Also very advanced for the Saturn, having up to 200 troops on the screen at 1 time.  This is my second time owning the game, and there are 8 different campaigns and I only did 1.   The localization has some of working Designs' corny humor, but it's really fun figuring out which battle formation to use, and capturing enemy generals.  Highly recommended.  Easily in the top 5 Saturn games.

Awesome stuff! I'll try to get onto it after Mafia 2, which I'm still playing through. How long do the campaigns take roughly?

As for Mafia, I think the story is just as good or even better than the first game. The missions are as strong as ever, throwing in new complications and really unexpected stuff the whole way through the game. I really hope there is some kind of free-ride extreme mode afterwards like in the original.
