There are some good ideas in there  (like hold your ears) but the game itself looks fucking awful... I'm totally not excitd about this at all.

I am.

What exactly looks awful? Apart from movement controls that look ghastly at first, but hopefully you can get used to it somehow. Combat looks just fine.

Cover your ears is a bit unrefound aesthetic, other then maybe offering some interactivity, doesn't really add to the fighting system/scoring/gameplay. You don't get points for it gah... useless. Well not that motion based games can get particularly deep, but still. To me it looks like a fun arcade game that isn't an arcade game. Im sure not too many people will appreciate it. But for me this looks like the finest console offering from SEGA atm (ok Anarchy Reigns, but that isn't really a SEGA offering now is it).

- Sonic = don't like furry platformers. Shinobi would interest me as far as platformers go (but the 3ds game... I have some doubts about it, I have to see the fighting system in motion more).
- Binary Domain = Third person shooters... meh. Awful art direction as well.
- Guardian Heroes = While belt scroll games/beat'em ups are generally where my interest in videogames lies (and some other arcade related genres and ninja gaiden-like platformers), I was never really blown away by Guardian Heroes... it should takes some notes from Denjin Makai II on how to do a combo based belt scroll game, especially Valgar you can easily rack up 255 combo without any sign of skill, besides it's more Treasure stuff then SEGA (like Platinum Games stuff).

Yes, but mostly cause it has color and an appealing style. I'd be more interested in Rise's visuals if they put a touch more saturation into the colors.

^Considering Child of Eden is it's only competition at this stage... maybe.

I think it looks alright. Really cool ideas on controlling and general gameplay. I just... can't get over Kinect's lag and how that might affect the gameplay. I hope it's not too bad.

That is SEGA's RPG team if I recall correctly. What a drastic change of scenery.

Shining Hearts, Valkyria Chronicles series for what I gather. Also Ryuta Ueda left the Yakuza team to join them.
