Game looks great, but I cannot watch that video without muting it. The commentary... my god. So overly dramatic. It's a freakin VIDEO game. Shaddup and just let them play.
LMAO, you should watch a Marvel match if you thought this was hyped. It's obvious you're not into the fighting games, because this was actually fairly tame compared to some stuff, the fighting game community really gets into the spirit of competition. Not to mention the tournaments regularly get viewers in the tens of thousands now, so there is a lot of excitement surrounding them. I think the excitement only serves to enhance the match.
Even so, the commentary while heated was pretty insightful if you leave it on. They do talk a lot about the tactics being used, Fuudo balancing of damage vs getting drinks was particularly interesting I thought.
Anyway:
How popular does everyone think this'll be when it shows up at EVO this year?
I think that the entrants for the tournament had to be capped at like 100~200 entrants or something (probably because it's been added late). I think the finals will be shown on the big screens on Sunday too along with the major tournaments like Marvel, SF4 and SFxT, so it should get some decent attention. It seems like it's been building steam with all the events Sega has been holding in the USA recently, so I think it'll do quite nicely.
