PROJECT K is a PlayStationPortable game

it's on the cover of new famitsu, but is only a piece of text, probably within the pages there is also the dedicated section with more info and possibly images.

So is it going to be called Ryu ga Gotoku Project K or will it have a real name sometime soon? Looks pretty cool I guess (not like I will ever get to try it out...). He looks a lot like Nagoshi too, I think.

PSP? Well I've officially lost any and all interest in this game.

I think the biggest reasons it is a PSP game is because:

PSP is SEGA's strongest market in Japan, might as well bring one of their most profitable IPs to it.

Less reason and demand to translate a PSP game than an HD console release. A lot of the English speaking fans just will not miss this one that much.

I have no idea how they could stretch any more big ideas with the same engines and same markets after Yakuza 4. I think they want to make Yakuza 5 be a big deal for more than just one place, so best they catch all other regions up to 4 and hopefully make the brand a bit stronger outside of Japan while doing so. I think they can.

I hope so too, but from the interview to Nagoshi-san (reported by andriasang.com) seems that the ryu-ga-gotoku team is already busy with the new entry in the series

I just wrote a new post on the front page. Nagoshi says the PSP game is by a new team and that the old team is still working. This game did not 'screw up' the main series. ITs a side game.

- Also, Nagoshi wrote the script. WTF!?

Finally a Yakuza game I don't have to import or look forward to!

Not liking the look of the new character though, would have prefered one of the already established characters.

have you missed the interview with Nagoshi ?
this game has nothing to do with the main series .
the main character here is just a tough street boy and he is not a part of any Yakuza group . i doubt if it will be called Yakuza if it ever released in the states .

Wow, I am really really interested to see how this one will be turning out. It seems like an interesting twist for the series.

Something I noticed, I am not sure if it is because of the small size of the images, but the backgrounds in the screenshots look flat, you know like a CG background you would see in like every RPG in the mid 1990s? Not saying that is a bad thing, just makes me curious to how different this one will play out.

KAZUMA KIRYU = OPTIMUS PRIME

You still love the guy but variation is a good thang.
