So who's got it? I'm forced to wait another week...  >:(

Some good news from joystiq:

Quote
I'd forgotten the absolute worst thing about Jet Set Radio, possibly as a defense mechanism: the "center camera" button and the graffiti button are the same. For 95% of the game, this is fine; however, in the few stages when you're chasing rival gangs and trying to paint their backs, you constantly mash on the left trigger to attempt to tag the person you're pursuing. If you're close enough, you repeatedly paint them. If not ... you recenter the camera over and over again, deploying an instant headache.

You can now turn off the camera centering function in the settings, leaving the left trigger blissfully free to focus on graffiti only. This is the single best thing Sega could have done for this port.

I can't wait to see the bonus videos as well, SEGA is blowing the lid off this port.

I'm getting the Vita version.

Wait...can't they just map the camera position to another button/right stick whilst retaining the tagging on L or R?
Big fan of Claymore, Miria in particular.

Currently playing Yakuza 0.

Oh my! I actually got a little emotional towards the end! Can't wait to replay this and review it. Also hoping to give a code away in a contest, so stay tuned for that.

I'm glad Kotaku was nice for once.

Some reviews have surfaced lately... There have been a lot of mixed opinions.

Official Xbox Magazine - 7/10
Destructoid - 6/10
GamesRadar.com - 4/5
The Verge - 5/10

Dreamcast games are somewhat complicated to review.

They were forward-though-out enough to fit today's digital gaming market, but they are old ass games nevertheless.
That makes expectations high, and results hard to evaluate.

Plus the usual American-influenced internet bias against Sega, and reviews become shit.

Re-releases are a tough balance act because while nostalgic gamers remember them fondly, it's a simple truth that they don't stand up as well today as they did back then.

It's nice to see Sega for once honoring their legacy a bit by re-releasing them, but it should not become the cornerstone of their strategy, something that I'm a little worried is happening. It won't grow Sega's fanbase much at all.

Just wait till SA2 gets reviewed.  I mean SA2: Battle was torn to shreds back in the day and that was many years ago.  I doubt it's appreciated since then.

SA2's gameplay was amazing back then. While I love the game, by today's standards the gameplay is quite shitty.
I wonder if reviews will bomb.

If it was a Mario game though, they'd say that the "gameplay reflects the times of our childhood" and give it a 13/10

To Nintendo's credit, though, they understand that 3D platformers have not aged as well as 2D ones and therefore are far more shy about re-releasing them. Sega doesn't seem  to have gotten that memo.

We haven't seen a Mario Sunshine re-release, for example....

XBLA is giving me errors with the -1MSP glitch. Ultra sad times to the fullest.

If Nintendo can get away with putting a SNES Rom on a DVD disc, I'm sure SEGA can be forgiven for picking up 10-12 year old games from the Dreamcast library.

Though, I do see your point. All of the Dreamcast games have aged greatly, even back when they were compared to their Gamecube and Xbox counterparts, so expect some nasty critiques against an HD version of Shenmue.

It's a rough period, The Dreamcast got into the game, pretty much when the Playstation I was in it's last legs and the Nintendo 64 still had some juice left. But even by early 2000, the Dreamcast was far superior graphically. Of course, in 2012, a lot of DC games look ancient. But a few of 'em are still kinda presentable.
