Yeah, but the campaign is only "terrible" in comparison with what the ultrafans expect and believe to be possible. Back in the realm of objective reality, it's one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns of all time.
It's terrible in comparison to other Kickstarters.
It's made money, but did you see the twitch interview? Potato quality footage and audio, mixed with someone doing the interview and asking questions who should not be allowed near a microphone.
Not to mention, everything looks very cheap and poorly made on the page itself.
EDIT:
AND, poor communication in general (poor linking for the reddit AMA for example), badly handled transmission of information regarding the funding.
The stretch goals are badly organised (Why is Portugese Subtitles a fucking stretch goal so high compared to the others? Why is it above important gameplay aspects like Rapport System?).
The explanation of how the stretch goals will affect the game are bad too. And the way they are situated means we'll probably get one village with tons of stuff to do and the others will be barebones.
ALSO the tiers were poorly made, a jump of $200 for extra capsule toys, a jump from $500 to $3000 etc.
This was a bad campaign, it's succeeding DESPITE it, not because of it.
