So basically we have the power to scream and yell at people to make things we claim to pay money for, but potentially won't for a game that was a financial failure and has a -niche- audience?
I seriously hate this elitist attitude that media industries have cultured, where all people seem to want is just sequels and remakes when all it does is impose on branching creativity and only serves the purpose of an audience that will continually shrink as time goes on. Whatever scatter brained plan you have, while demand can have a sway, people don't really know what they want, and people who demand things to go their way because they want to dictate their money in a specific way doesn't support the individual, the creators of these games, it only fuels the dark side of capitalism.
Its that kind of mentality that makes programs like Kickstarter flawed because while their clause states you can't retract your payment, legally they can't, and you see people like with the Mighty No. 9 project retracting their payments because they were in fear that they weren't going to get a product they wanted. (No girls allowed!) There is a special pit in hell for these types of people, and frankly, once they die, there won't be anyone wanting a new Snatcher, Mighty No. 9 or whatever because pop culture will bury these "video games" with the next "big thing."
tl;dr example: Say a My Little Pony fan in his 30's complaining that the show isn't catering to their older audience or to his needs and whims. Answer: Its a kids show you idiot. You are a byproduct of their success and the world does not revolve around your life.
At the very least, I'd rather see a new Snatcher, or just redo Snatcher altogether, because the game may have a neat story, its still blatantly ripping on Blade Runner and showing that Kojima is a big fan of movies and in reality a mediocre writer.
