I saw pics from Gagaman at Summer of Sonic and it looked fun and well put together. Game demos, merch on display, Sumo and Sonic comic artists in attendance etc. (only blemish was Bentley).
Now I read about the US equivalent and it makes me want to puke (though that might be the combination of heat, beer and lucky charms).
Just listen to the fun to be had at Sonicon in Texas this November:
gothic looking rock bands having nothing to do with Sonic, a bunch of animal experts (to teach about real life hedgehogs?!), a "manga" artist from America who is not Japanese and has nothing to do with Sonic and the one gem of the show: Mike Pollock (VA of Eggman).
whee...
http://www.cyberblueprints.com/SonicCon/Guests.aspx#DWhttp://www.sonicstadium.org/community/a ... nicon-2010I have already trumped the convention and it took me 5 minutes to plan it out:
Segapalooza 2010 in Philadelphia, PA! Date whenever. Just PM me and let me know when you'll be around. Entry open to those I like. Play SEGA games on my two TVs, choosing from nearly every SEGA console. Use my games or bring your own. Play Master System ROMs on my computer with a USB Saturn pad. Take a look at my moderate collection of Sonic and SEGA stuff. Take your photos with the Ryo forklift figure and try to tell me it looks like shit, but you'll still pay the $5 photo fee. Watch Shenmue the Movie, that Sonic anime and episodes from that crappy Sonic Underground show. Only special guest is me, my cat and my girlfriend who puts up with all my SEGA shit.
Sounds like more fun that Sonicon now doesn't it?
