Same reason.
The feeling of simple control by swiping screen in particulary everywhere even while in the bed or outside is really different.
Console or PC is still moresuited to the not-so-simple ones like Sonic Dream Team.

Like pressing a button on a keyboard is more challenging than swiping.

It's more suitable or not than more challenging or not.
And talking about keyboard, back then before moving to Windows PC, I played all PC games using keyboard, including these :

Most of those PC games need at least 5 buttons unless the character couldn't do action (attack, jump, etc) which are rare.
Sonic Dash / Sonic Forces Mobile will have less buttons needed than these 30+ years old games if they went to PC.
Moving only need 2 buttons : left and right. Plus jump and slide.

There was NO controller.
No store sold them ... at least in my country.
This was a time where a PC game's graphic was still like this :

Not really, only hate the fact that my spacebar usually became broken because back then most action/jump button use spacebar and we couldn't change the buttons unlike nowadays games.

I prefer controllers myself... but when it comes to first-person shooters/view games, mouse is ideal for observation and shooting.

It's why when it comes to FPS, I have this crazy set-up where in my left hand is my XBox 360 controller for movement, and the shoulder-buttons for duckings and jumping and in my right hand I use a mouse for looking around and shooting.

I know there are such things as "gaming keyboards" but to me, my ideal gaming keyboard would be the ASCII Keyboard Controller on account it has analogue stick built in, which is far superior to WASD-movement.

I might give a nosey when it's released. Though I imagine it's not that different to Speed Jungle Zone or Cyber Station Zone, just reusing assets from the racecourse.

I rarely using keyboard anymore but I remember the transition from keyboard to controller really took time for platformer games.
Platformers in classic PC games usually use UP Arrow (keypad) or W (if tehre is WASD setup for player two) for jumping.
But almost all platformers in console games has a dedicated button for jumping, UP button isn't for jumping.

Seeing the simple trailer I don't think there will be any that's worth to be hyped but of course I'd love to be proven wrong :

I think I remember "up for jump" way back when.

Yeah, I'm not that into it. Especially given I can no longer manage my inventory system.
