So IDW Sonic has been out for awhile now as the successor of sort to the Archie Sonic comics.

Say I wanted to compare the overall popularity between archie and IDW Sonic comics, what's the best way to compare them?

The best way is to make poll, but it's hard to get more than 50 people to participate to if we aren't well known by the community and 50 voters definitely couldn't represent all fans.
Others have tried but if even forum as large as resetera failed, it would do no better in other forum, so .... no idea.

It's just some think that IDW may have an episode in Sonic Prime. Others think SatAM which in a sense the predecessor of Archie comics, should have the honour. And I'm simply thinking "It's lucky Sega even considered a new Sonic comic after Archie Sonic ended." They didn't bother with a new British Sonic comic after StC ended after all. I figured Sega allowed Archie Sonic to mostly do it's own thing if it made revenue and when it's done it's done.

Archie has Sonic X and Sonic Boom comics so I guess it made sense if IDW given license to make one for Prime.
Not soon probably, may be when we reached after half of the series.
